Was introduced to this restaurant by an Iranian friend. This was not my first Iranian meal at a restaurant so I have something to compare it to. While I can’t say we didn’t enjoy our meals, we found it a little pricey for what we received even though everything costs more now. Got lots of rice, a little meat and a large, simple salad with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and strips of white onions. The salad is extra $ so without the salad I would have gotten just white rice with a bit of saffron on top, and the meat of our choice. The service was ok. The server could have been a little more like she wanted to be there and she kept asking us if we were ready to order even though we were clearly trying to read the menu and there were few people in the restaurant. The decor was interesting and pleasant. Overall, the food and atmosphere was nice and it was clean.
I recently visited Sahel Restaurant on Broadway with a group of friends, and we had a fantastic dining experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening out. We ordered a variety of dishes, including the chicken kebab, beef kebab, and several appetizers. The chicken kebab was tender and flavorful, while the beef kebab was perfectly cooked, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. Among the appetizers, the grape leaf wrap stood out with its fresh and tangy taste. I also tried their traditional yogurt drink, which was refreshingly good.nnThe portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable, making it a great value for the quality and quantity of food we received. The service was excellent, with the staff being attentive and friendly, enhancing our overall experience.nnIn summary, Sahel Restaurant offers a delightful blend of delicious food, great service, and a pleasant atmosphere. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying meal with friends or family. Whether you’re a fan of kebabs or curious about trying new appetizers, this restaurant won’t disappoint.

We recently visited Sahel Restaurant in Vancouver and ordered the chicken and lamb dishes, as well as their dessert. While the main courses were delicious and well-prepared, I was disappointed with the dessert. The dessert, which appeared to be Faloodeh, tasted old and lacked the freshness I was expecting. It seemed like it had been sitting for a while and didn't have the vibrant flavors typically associated with this dish. Overall, while the main courses were enjoyable, the dessert fell short and could use some improvement in terms of freshness.
I had heard a lot about this restaurant, so I finally decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations. I ordered the lamb platter, which was supposed to be enough for four people, and I must say that the portion size definitely justified the price. The taste of the food was exceptional; everything was cooked to perfection. We also had tea and baklava for dessert, and the tea reminded me of the delicious tea flavors in Iran. It was a nostalgic and amazing experience. I will definitely be visiting this restaurant more often. The ambiance is warm and beautiful, and it truly immerses you in Iranian culture.
