I recently visited Joe’s Italian Deli and found the experience to be average.nnThe service was good, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who made sure we had everything we needed. They were helpful in making recommendations and answering any questions we had about the menu.nnJoe’s Italian Deli is a decent option for Italian cuisine in a warm and friendly setting. While it didn’t exceed my expectations, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a casual dining experience. I might return for a quick meal, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.
Great value spot close to campus.nnAll of the pastas are served with a dense slice of focaccia. We tried the spaghetti bolognese our son said it was pretty good and not too spicy, the rigatoni pesto cream tasty and recommended, although the sauce was a little watery and runny for a cream space, and the radiatore rose a unique pasta with a red cream sauce - some nice heat from the sausage - also recommended.nnPastas were $11.59. Staff were friendly. Order at the counter and seat yourself. Some interesting Italian culinary items you can shop for and purchase in their mini store area.nnDidn’t try the sandwiches so can’t comment on them. We would come back. Good stuff.
We had heard rave reviews about Jo's and thought it was time we finally tried it. We were very disappointed as the place did not live up to the hype.nnThe young lady at the till was courteous and patient as she explained some things to us since it was our first visit.nnThe food came out quickly. We ordered the Rosé sauce and the Pesto Cream sauce, both having the same pasta noodle. One came out pesto... you can see from the photos attached that the bottom of the dish was visibly with substantially less pasta looked like a kids dish when it should have been the same quantity. We complained. They were nice enough to make some more to add to the dish. But should we really have to ask for the same portion size!?nThe taste of the food was good, but not Wow!nAlso, the portion sizes are $11.19 worth. It's more of a lunch portion than a dinner portion.
I agree with the other reviewers—portions here aren’t massive. But honestly, do we need a mountain of pasta? Unless you’ve just crushed a 42.2 km marathon, most of us are here because we want someone else to cook, which is code for: I'm too lazy to lift a finger, let alone overeat.nnThe pasta is delicious, but be warned—if you’re grabbing it to-go, it sets up, so eat it fresh. The artichoke salad? A must-try. Bonus: you can snag some ingredients to whip up your own pasta at home, for when the laziness wears off.
I had seen this place pretty hyped up over social media so have been wanting to try it for awhile.nnThe staff was nice but found the food to be just alright. It felt like all the ingredients in the pesto chicken sandwich were chilled so the sandwich was just kind of cold and dry. I would've preferred it to be toasted or warned slightlynnThe Caesar salad felt like it was made to be eaten on the run. The Romain lettuce was chopped up onto small pieces so you're just stabbing a lot to fill your fork. I also got a big chunk of the stem in mind which wasn't to tasty.nnThe meatballs were tender and nicely seasoned. But the sauce and pasta didn't impress me that much.nnOverall it was a good atmosphere and decent food with good prices for this economy
