We stayed here as we were part of a group under a group rate. The hotel is under renovations which we were aware of. It was unfortunate that the hot tub wasn’t available but the pool was open. Our room wasn’t cleaned for 3/4 days and when asked for it to be cleaned it seemed that just the bed was made and the towels replaced. Our room key constantly stopped working and we needed to keep going to the desk to have them reprogrammed. They offered a wonderful breakfast buffet that was included which I really enjoyed but for some reason there was no breakfast on the last day yet they had provided vouchers for it. The hotel gym is very old and overpacked with equipment. Ceilings are very low and it’s hot hot hot down there. The rooms were spacious.nIt was a decent stay but I definitely didn’t have the “hotel experience” you pay for. Hopefully after their renovations they will be better.
Stayed recently for a basketball tournament. There was a small note on our booking agreement that the lobby and atrium were under renovation but when we arrived we quickly realized this was a MAJOR renovation. There restaurant was closed and there is no common space open to gather which was disappointing being on a team tournament. The overall feel of the hotel was a construction zone - drywall, plastic draping and caution tape all over. They did keep the construction noise to daytime hours but should I really have to listen to drilling when I'm paying to stay there? The hotel really should be closed during such extensive renos.nOnly one elevator was operational, some of our team experienced trouble with their water working throughout their stay and the fire alarm went off at one point during our stay.nThe rooms were a nice size but dark and outdated. The plugs were all loose and the bathroom was small with a very low ceiling. The bed linens and towels were very nice quality.nOur room did not get serviced during our stay, we were only there over the weekend so I don't expect a full clean but it would be nice to have the towels and amenities refreshed and garbage taken out.nThe breakfast buffet was definitely the highlight, great quality food and lots of options.nWe didn't use the gym or pool but they are located way in the basement and are very old and outdated. Very creepy vibe down there.nThis hotel has a long way to go...I doubt we would stay here again even after renos are complete.
Came here for a one night staycation for our anniversary. Spent just over $300 for the jacuzzi room plus late check out +$40. Let start with the good. The size of the room and jacuzzi tub. The bad: On going construction, half the wall sockets in the room do not work or are loose, rooms are dimmly lit, low choice for channels on T.V, bad ventilation in the bedroom, little or no help given by front desk, they seem to just brush you off when you have a complaint, went down for breakfast and was informed it was an extra $18, which we were not even notified of this when we checked in, if you don't pay $18 all you can get is coffee, no continental breakfast, not even a muffin, Construction in the courtyard started at 8 am, even todaya holiday. I had even asked if they provided something to make the night special for my girl - Nada, asked for some wine glasses when booked - Nada. They honestly do the bare minimum here. So if you need somewhere just to stay, this place is good for that but don't bother spending anything but the minimum room value because that's all they will give you.
Booked a five night stay recently. Currently being renovated but there were no signs of active work. I was told services food, etc. wouldn't be available during this time. I was on a work trip and that wasn't a big deal for me.nnMy room was... a room. Four walls and a door that locks. The room was clean enough, and I felt relatively at ease. Electrical outlets are all loose, some don't work, all need to be replaced. Some lights didn't seem to work once again, not a huge deal but that might have been me.nnAll in all, this entire property felt very well used, and I truly hope to see improvements when I return later this year.
Great location. Currently going through a renovation. Should be nice when renovation is complete. Rooms are spacious with good dimensions that allow for you to open up your luggage. Washrooms dated but the renovation should take care of that.
