It's not the nicest hotel out there, but the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The price was very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area and I would say 100% worth it. We stayed during a heatwave and the AC kept the room nice and cool.nnThe rooms themselves are older and could use some renovations. There was water leaking from the roof in the hallway and the elevators weren't the most reliable.nnThe front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Breakfast was well stocked which was nice.nnParking was fairly priced, although I think members get a discount. Just don't leave valuables visible as there are some sketchy people around.nnOverall I'd recommend this place if you're looking for comfortable place to crash.
Favourite hotel I've stayed at in Edmonton so far. Great price and the room we had was amazing. We stayed in the King Suite which was quite large and roomy. Balcony view was amazing. Best hotel breakfast I've had to be honest, pool was awesome too. Lots of restraunts in walking distance and nice area to walk around with the legislative building right there. I missed his name but the manager working the front desk Saturday morning was terrific! Definitely will be returning soon!
The location is great. Very central in downtown Edmonton. Service is good, and rooms are okay. Each room has a balcony which is a nice touch, but otherwise rooms are pretty standard albeit a bit dated.nThe breakfast has definitely gotten worse over the years. Last time I stayed they replaced the breakfast sausages with hot dogs. There were also issues with cold coffee over one of my stays. Otherwise the breakfast is alright.nElevators can be slow, and I've seen them shut one down for maintenance in the past. This generally isn't an issue, but during busy periods, the elevators are really slow. Painfully slow.nParking is convenient. There is a lot adjacent to the location that you can pay Holiday Inn a daily fee to park in. It is a bit tight, and I have seen it fill up so that can be challenging.
The A/C in the rooms is amazing. During a heat wave where temperatures were in the mid 30s, it stayed a cool 18 through the day and overnight. Room was clean and didn't look as run down as other people have mentioned. It had a tub, balcony and dove brand toiletries. Staff were great. Breakfast was good and the fact that hot breakfast is included is awesome. No bacon though, just sausages. This place is a hidden gem for the value, especially during a heat wave.
We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel and found the location amazing. It was very easy to get to the conference and other parts of the city. The breakfast options were great as well. I have a background in hospitality so the room and hallways were very lackluster. The room wasn't the cleanest, with my main complaint being the bathroom and general smell of the room. I also noticed dirty spots on the carpets, blinds, walls, and other surface areas. The conditioner and hand soap were empty, so I had to go ask for those. There were huge puddles after showering, potentially from the shower curtain - meaning I needed to request new towels as well. The beds felt clean enough and there were no pests. The balcony was also a plus and I enjoyed stepping out for the view. I would like to see the cleaning and restocking standards of this hotel be raised. I would still stay here again since I always pack my own cleaning supplies.
