Sandman Signature Edmonton Downtown Hotel

We stay at this hotel often for oilers games, concerts and sometimes just because were in Edmonton. It provides the convenience of leaving jackets and staying warm/dry when walking to the rogers center in all seasons. I usually book the premium rooms if available, but the basic rooms are acceptable too. I see lots of reviews here of damaged furniture and unclean bedding/linens but this is not something we have experienced, I have noticed that some rooms have unclean looking couches, they could definitely all use a good clean, we just choose to avoid them, we generally avoid the couches in most hotels, they all gross me out to be honest. The beds and pillows are comfortable, we even tried to buy the pillows online, but couldn't find them for public purchase. I will agree with others that the toilets are not the greatest and take a long time to flush, its a little scary. The customer service in this place is really great, anything we've needed in the past is alway dealth with right away. I have 2 tweens boy and girl and they refuse to share a bed anymore even with seperate balnkets, so its nice to have the option of having a cot in the room free of charge as well. Also having a chop on location is a bonus. Their food/service is great!nnI look forward to the carpet being replaced with tile/laminate flooring!

Meh. You’re paying for location. The rooms are typical, clean. There are zero amenities on site that you would expect from a so called “4 star hotel”. It’s a 2 star hotel that’s downtown, close to Roger’s place. 8 blocks south you’d pay half what you pay at this location. Room service is provided from Chop steakhouse, that’s it. No breakfast options, no juice bar, no other options other than steak, can’t order food past 8pm. The pool is a pool. If you are looking for an actual “4 star” hotel, spend the extra $100 and stay at the JW Marriott across the street. Would not stay here again at the inflated price. It’s a Sandman, nothing signature about it.

I honestly don’t usually stay at Sandman chains because I haven’t had the greatest experience in the past. However, I would definitely come back to this one.nnThe beds were so comfortable and the pillows were great. I’m a really difficult sleeper so it was amazing to have a good sleep at this location.nnI mean, it is a Sandman, so it is not the fanciest hotel in the world. But it definitely did the job and having a good sleep can be better than having fancy amenities.nnI do wish they had a good café on site. I did some walking around to find some coffee in the morning and I found somewhere nearby which was good, but I always prefer when the on-site café is rocking and has healthy food options which unfortunately this one did not.nnThe location is right downtown so walkable to just about everything.

I cannot say enough great things about Alex and Emmanuel at the hotel front desk! Their dedication and helpfulness made my stay truly exceptional. No matter what issue came up, big or small, they solved it right away with a smile, making me feel valued and cared for every single time. Their professionalism, warmth, and commitment to guest satisfaction sets a new high standard for what a hotel experience should be. Thanks to Alex and Emmanuel, I had an unforgettable stay, and I will absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone I know!

I don’t usually write reviews but I need to acknowledge the remarkable service from the young lady, Nadia, at the front desk. If only every hotel had an employee like Nadia welcoming guests. She was professional and knowledgeable but what stuck us was her kindness and patience. She noticed my dad needed some support even before I mentioned anything she had already made sure he was comfortable. Thank you, Nadia, for making our stay so memorable!
