I’m not so sure about four stars… In the week that I stayed here only one of the two elevators was working, the signage regarding social hour was wrong and the complimentary cocktail would’ve been safe for a toddler, I think - very small and containing little or no alcohol, the bathroom had no fan!, the bed didn’t have fitted sheets and so basically came apart in the night, the king deluxe room didn’t have a microwave, of course there are no porters are there anywhere anymore?, and seemingly only one luggage cart.nIt’s a nice place and the staff are friendly-ish and the location is good but… 4 stars??
The facility itself is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. The hotel is located centrally downtown and close to the legislature buildings. The staff at the facility were very welcoming and easy to deal with. The restaurant/breakfast was very good and the staff were very diligent. The rooms are very nice and updated. I would certainly stay there again.
My wife booked a staycation in Edmonton for my birthday this weekend as a surprise. She reserved the room online, got to the room early to decorate etc. She was less than impressed with the front desk service, gave a hard time with checking in and decorating the room. Major hidden fee’s as well that wasn’t disclosed in the initial booking, parking is extra $30/night breakfast is all you can eat but also not included. Overall the attitude of the front desk soured the weekend. That part aside the cleaning staff, restaurant staff are very friendly and polite, they made us feel welcomed there.
This hotel used to be a favorite, but things have really gone downhill post COVID. The rooms are in dire need of an update. Decor is dated. Furnishings are in bad repair. Half of the plugs in the room did not work. Internet was slow.nnPerks such as evening wine and complimentary breakfast are no longer included. This hotel charges premium prices but the guest experience leaves a lot to be desired.
The Ritual at Loft 106 was really nice. A complimentary featured bevy for hotel guests served between 5-6, Tonight was a Cosmo. I also enjoyed two happy hour menu items the salt and pepper wings and the crab and artichoke dip. The service was excellent, the staff was welcoming and the restaurant was reasonably priced with a great selection of drinks. look forward to my next visit.
