This was the second time coming here for the all you can eat pasta. Unfortunately, the policies have changed and a beverage and gratuity is added, very fair, since I was told that some didn't tip, so the policy changed from this week. From this visit, the sauce amount has decreased, and the pasta has gone from al dente to harder, basically raw pasta.nnThe first plate of pasta was almost perfectly al dente but still slightly under what I preferred, and was still a treat to enjoy. After the first plate, I had asked if the pasta could be made softer for the next. They said that it would not be possible since the pasta is par-cooked. However, for the next 2 plates, the pasta got harder and harder until I tasted flour and I decided to cut into one. Well, it was raw inside photo included. At this point after 2.5 plates of hard pasta, I didn't feel like asking for it to be remade since they told me before that it wasn't possible.nnOverall, the food experience was marginally unacceptable after the first plate. The service was good and the sports bar atmosphere was excellent. I recommend the rigatoni alla vodka sauce for the all access pasta since it tastes the best, pesto the second.nnAfter the complaint, I was told there had been a miscommunication that the pasta couldn't be cooked longer, and the drink cost was taken off as a result.
I got introduced to this place by a foodie influencer Howie and got to enjoy a lot of their food. This visit, however, was solo and only just on a Monday evening so it wasn't very busy inside. There is outdoor patio seating which is was my preference.nnI ordered the Steak Sandwich which came with EXCELLENTLY crisp fries and a small dipping sauce. If you ask for any kind of hot sauce, they will charge you $1.50 - SO BE CAREFUL! The Steak Sandwich was *absolutely* delicious! The taste from the AAA medium-rare flat iron Steak with the goat cheese and bbq sauce had such a really nice, umami flavour and mouth feel. It was just so delicious!nnI also ordered a Nashville Chicken Sando. No pictures taken as the first bite literally made me devour it on the spot! Will definitely come back again to take a photo.nnOverall, I had a great experience at Sports Ilustrated Clubhouse. Nothing to say about their interior or service.nnDefinitely recommend although I will say most items in the menu is quite expensive for the value. About 10-20% more expensive than what I consider reasonable price.
We had the BLT sandwich which came with fries and a salad, and the sizzling brownie. The BLT was well seasoned with quality bacon, generous amounts of tomato and shredded lettuce and the fries were tasty and crispy. The brownie was served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Good solid food in a bright clean space — ambience very different from when it was a pub, and some will miss the vibe! Still, will be back to try other items on the menu.
If you are in the village you might wanna check out this place. Food was delicious, plenty of seats and you can even sit outside. Food was good
A couple of days ago I met with my BFF for a much-needed catch up. We started off at the UBC Botanical Gardens and then she suggested Sports Illustrated Clubhouse for lunch.nnIt was a quiet afternoon which made the atmosphere perfect for us for a wonderful visit, and the food was great. The best part was the incredible service by Emi! She was such a lovely person, so friendly, and she took such great care of us!nnMy friend and I shared the truffle fries they were sooo good! and house salad. And Emi recommended the perfect beer - my new favourite - Main Street Brewing Hula Hula Tropical Sour!nnThank you Emi - you made the visit with my bestie so special!! We will be back! XX
