Fast easy check-in, comfortable and clean rooms, and great service. I stayed here for a conference, and their attention to detail was excellent—they didn’t miss anything. The hotel is conveniently located beside the Rideau Centre, with quick indoor access on the third floor, which was especially helpful given the weather. The location is fantastic, close to many restaurants and the Rideau Canal. I’d love to come back to Ottawa in the summer and would definitely consider staying here again.
The service and location couldn’t have been better. Everyone was so kind and put us first. But the room was so disappointing. Mold in the shower, paper thin toilet paper, it was literally see through, no liners in the garbages, 1 Kleenex left in the Kleenex box in the bathroom, our window was broken so I was worried if I left it open some rodent would walk into the room, there was no way to turn off the heat, even when turned off, hot air was still blowing in the room, pillows were either so big and fluffy it hurts your neck or so thin they also hurt your neck… although the Sunday brunch was absolutely exquisite and the service at the front counter and at the restaurant were wonderful, the room itself is a 2 star at most.
The room was very tired. Every surface that could show wear and tear did. The bathtub needs recalling, picture frame and mirror need replacing and every wood surface is warn at the edges.nnIt it was a lower end hotel then this would be expected but it is a $300 Marriott / Westin!nnI’m a regular with Marriott bonvoy so I assume I was given an upgraded room as usual.
My stay at the Westin Hotel was excellent. The location could not be better - located in the core of downtown and just a short walk away from Parliament, the Byward Market, Elgin Street, parks and retail stores. Having direct access to Rideau Shopping Centre from the hotel without having to even exit the hotel was convenient and practical. The staff were friendly, the hotel is clean/modern, the buffet breakfast is exceptional, and the room was spacious and comfortable with an amazing view of the city.nnMinor feedback: the room was a connecting room, which made it a bit noisy at times you can sometimes hear the adjacent connecting room. Also, in terms of overall room amenities for a hotel at this price/rating, it would have been nice to have basic toiletries as well as guest slippers in the room. This should be standard for a Westin.nnRegardless, highly recommend this hotel and will certainly return on my next trip to Ottawa.

Excellent location.nGym was modern, also with a great view and top of the line equipment.nPool and hot tub looked great.nCafe on site was delicious with great service, grab and go sandwiches or sit-down.
