We had a very pleasant stay. The staff, especially at the reception, were all extremely polite, helpful, and very friendly. As there is currently some construction work taking place in the hotel, we were given a room upgrade straight away.nnDepending on which side of the hotel your room is located, you may hear more or less of the construction noise. I think it would be important to mention the ongoing construction work when making a booking.nnOther than that, everything was great, and we were very happy with our stay overall.
This hotel is undergoing renovations. We stayed in one of the renovated rooms overlooking Parliament. The room was slightly below average compared to other Westin properties. The quality of the renovations is poor. There were gaps in much of the trim in the bathroom and caulking was sloppy even to the uninitiated. Our thermostat buttons were broken, the handheld shower was leaking and broken, our TV's streaming feature was on the fritz and the deadbolt on our door was so stiff that it took two hands to turn it.nnOtherwise the room was fine with standard Westin furnishings and bedding.nnService was impeccable and staff was exceptionally friendly.nnThe hotel is attached to the CF Rideau Center - a high end shopping mall and CF Rideau Center RED parking structure. The RED parking offers a less expensive alternative to Valet Parking.nAfter you enter the entrance for RED parking, take the first available left and continue on for the entrance to Westin. You can access the Center from the Garage or from the 3rd floor inside the Westin.nnThe hotel is ideally situated for walking to most of Ottawa's attractions and restaurants.
Great location in the city. Just steps to the canal locks, parliament hill, Byward Market. Directly connected to the Rideau Center shopping mall and Rogers Center. They have huge meeting space and decent gym/pool. Rooms are spacious clean and well appointed. Housekeeping staff are friendly and do a great job.
The hotel is in a perfect location. I am a breakfast person and I can say their breakfast is good. Since it’s in the government official area, you can take walks at midnight and feel very safe. There are lots of restaurants and bars near by. I would definitely stay here next time I am in Ottawa
Had an excellent experience from check in to check out. New king rooms were ver nice. The view from the Westin rooms overlooking parliament, the canal and Confederation Square are classic Ottawa postcard views. The Shore club for an evening cocktail was superb. I’m excited to see the new renovations currently under works!
