Lord Elgin Hotel

As advertised this feels like a chic but not Ritzy over the top boutique hotel. Lots of attention to the details and a great location. Price was slightly lower than chain hotels and quality slightly exceeded as well. Even a place to put your skates see photo.

We often stay at the Lord Elgin when we visit Ottawa, which is once or twice a year. And it’s often the winter when we stay. We love it for several reasons. Its location in central Ottawa means you can walk to Parliament Hill, the National Gallery, the Byward Market and many other places with little effort—even in winter! Its amenities are great. When the children we young we used the pool, the restaurant offers a great breakfast—especially the buffet and there is a valet car service. In addition the rooms are very comfortable—and the beds are excellent. The bathrooms are a good size, very clean and a pleasure to use. My only disappointments are the pillows, which are just too puffy and yet hard, and the bottom sheets on the bed, which are not large enough to stay tucked in when you move around in the bed. This is a pet peeve of mine, but probably not significant for most people. We’ll certainly continue staying there!

Amazing experience during our two night stay for a celebratory weekend for our engagement. Staff were so great and everyone was polite. The location is as central as it gets. The rooms are large and spacious and clean. Definitely recommend!

From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional, making it the perfect escape from home.nnThe staff, from housekeeping to the bartender Amanad gets 5 stars alone! at Forty One, were incredibly friendly and attentive. We were especially grateful for the kindness of the restaurant staff, who went out of their way to make sure our son was comfortable and happy during our meals. It made dining such a pleasant experience!nnThe hotel was not only family-friendly but also a beautiful spot, centrally located. Our son had a blast, and we loved how welcoming the entire team was throughout our stay. If you’re looking for a family-friendly hotel with outstanding service, the Lord Elgin is a top-notch choice in Ottawa for a relaxing getaway.

My husband and I stayed from Jan 26-28 for the purpose of a mini-moon in Ottawa. We chose The Lord Elgin Hotel due to the location for pedestrian and vehicle travel. The check in process was quick and smooth. The hotel staff was polite and able to answer my question's. We splurged and got valet parking. The bellhops at check in and check out were helpful, professional and curtesy. I haven't used valet before and the 1st bellhop said they didn't take tips when I asked if this was still customary but than at checkout I noticed a sign with a QR code and text number so you can tipWe ordered room service and we ordered a clubhouse sandwich and burger. We had no issues with our food, edible and flavourful. We waited about 10mins for our food and drinks. I liked they choose an Ontario vodka, as a consumer supporting Canada and Ontarian products is a priority. We quite enjoyed the hot-tub for the depth and temperature. The main pool was slightly cooler than I'm use to but tolerable. The housekeeping staff were great. I had breakfast in the restaurant and the eggs benny was super yummy but I didn't care for the wedges due to how they were cooked, more a texture issue than a quality issue. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and we definitely book at The Lord Elgin again.
