Alt Hotel Ottawa

Great room, service and location. Felt the room was much smaller than the pictures online - may be because Alt is more of a business hotel making it more compact & functional.nnOne feedback - even though we were a couple staying in & were just okay with the concept, the see-through floor-to-ceiling glass on one side of the bathroom was a bit weird. Essentially if one person takes a shower, the other person in the room can see it all. And not only that, the bathroom door of our room was designed in a way it leaves a large enough gap running through it, again making everything visible to the person standing right outside. Weird modern design I'd say! So unless you are okay with your roommate seeing you taking a shower, etc, pl double check the room specs before booking.nnBut otherwise a very clean, functional hotel. The room had a good selection of teas and coffees too. I requested for a hot water kettle from the front desk which was provided pronto. Also since we reached the hotel early, we requested for an early check in which was also provided with no hesitation at all.

I am not a fan of the hotel. I had to stay for several nights on business and while it is conveniently located in downtown Ottawa, the rooms are not welcoming whatsoever. It is difficult to even get a fridge, wh8ch is a fairly common amenity nowadays. It is very minimalistic, and I absolutely hate the bathroom layout. The beds are comfortable, and the wifi is adequate. That's the best I can say about it. There is no restaurant on site, which makes dining difficult, especially for a woman traveling solo. The lounge/cafe had nominal offerings that were kind of funky and nothing for lunch or dinner. I also had too many uncomfortable encounters with unstable people around the hotel, which made trying to get food after dark almost impossible. It's a very sketchy area.nThe staff are exceptional, though. Very kind and helpful. I'd like to give a shout out to Trisha and Adam, who did their best to make my stay a little more bearable. They are the only reason the hotel is getting two stars.

I had a great stay here. The staff I met was very friendly, the room was perfectly suited to my needs and the location is ideal for a walk downtown. Thank you for having me and I look forward to future visits!

The location is convenient, as it's within walking distance of many interesting attractions. However, the hotel is overpriced for what it offers. The room is quite small, with no dressers and a very limited closet space. The coffee machine was broken, and the room only had one comfortable chair along with an office chair. The shower was cramped, and there was no option for a bath. Additionally, the bed was too soft, which made it uncomfortable and hard on the back. I would not recommend this hotel, nor would I stay here again.

I recently stayed at the Alt Hotel, and I can't recommend it enough. From the moment I arrived, the Manager Rania ensured that my experience was nothing short of exceptional. She handled every minor issue with grace and professionalism, turning potential inconveniences into enjoyable moments. Her dedication to guest satisfaction truly set the tone for my stay.nnAdditionally, the atmosphere at the hotel was elevated by one of the bartenders/baristas Raf. His engaging personality made evenings at the bar a highlight of my trip. He not only crafted delicious cocktails but also created a welcoming environment that encouraged conversation among guests.nnOverall, the combination of Rania's outstanding service and Raf's vibrant energy made my stay at the Alt Hotel remarkable. I can't wait to return!
