Fairmont Château Laurier, Ottawa

Absolutely outstanding hotel experience. The customer service was impeccable, the housekeeping staff was friendly and professional. My guest room was spacious. The bed was super comfy. The room had a walk in closet complete with a very comfortable robe. The bathroom was clean and roomy and was stocked with very nice toiletries.

Fairmont Château Laurier truly feels like a castle, the name “Château” says it all. From the moment you walk in, the lobby is stunning and full of history. The rooms are huge, and our kids loved having all that space to enjoy and relax.nnThe service was excellent throughout our stay. Staff were attentive, welcoming, and made everything feel smooth and easy.nnWe also loved the photobooth area, which added a fun and memorable touch to the visit. It’s little details like that which make the experience feel special.nnOverall, it’s a beautiful and historic place to stay in Ottawa, perfect for families and anyone who wants to experience the charm of a real castle.

Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.nnWhen we arrived on Friday, we valet parked our car. At no point were we told that, because of the Ironman road closures, we would be unable to access our vehicle on our scheduled check-out day.nnWhen we went to retrieve our car today, we were informed that it could not be released until approximately 1:00 a.m. This left us stranded in Ottawa with no practical way to continue our trip. The only solution offered by the hotel was to book another night at our own expense.nnA hotel of this calibre should anticipate major city events that affect guest departures. At a minimum, guests checking in before a significant road closure should be clearly informed if valet vehicles will be inaccessible on certain dates, allowing them to make an informed decision or park elsewhere.nnBecause of this, we have had to miss our reservation in Kingston and completely alter our travel plans.nnWe have stayed with Fairmont for many years and have always had positive experiences. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and planning during this stay has been extremely disappointing. Based on this experience, we will seriously reconsider staying at Fairmont in the future. This is terrible!

Amazing experience staying here. All staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Rooms were a little worn-out but considering how old the hotel is it's not surprising. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom products were awesome!

nnI stayed at this hotel for two nights, and it was an excellent experience. Even though the city was extremely busy because of the Ironman event, the hotel staff provided outstanding service. They were always friendly, professional, and happy to help with anything we needed, despite how busy they were.nnThe location is fantastic and very convenient for exploring the area. I also really appreciated the valet parking service—they took care of parking the car, which made everything much easier.nnFrom the warm hospitality to the great service and excellent location, everything exceeded my expectations. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
