Their check in is 4pm. But they were able to accommodate me at 12:30pm. I had to give up my King sized bed for 2 doubles for the early check in... And they texted me as soon as it was ready. I loved the bag check in. So I could go enjoy lunch at one of their restaurants without all my stuff. The wine and my steak were incredible. The service was wonderful. Then my room was ready. It was spacious with many little extras. Nice touches. A view of the harbor and a fountain. It is just lovely. Here on a event weekend being held at the hotel. They did an absolutely amazing job.
The Westin Bayshore really does have one of the best locations in Vancouver — right on Coal Harbour with Stanley Park literally steps away. Being able to hop on a bike path and ride into the park, or just walk along the water with those mountain and bay views, is hard to beat. Watching the float planes from the room was also a nice touch.nThe pools both indoor and outdoor are a great bonus, especially in summer, and the atmosphere around the hotel feels lively but relaxed. Staff were welcoming and helpful, and small things like free bike rentals added value to the stay.nThat said, the interior is starting to feel a bit dated in places. Some bathroom fixtures and design choices give more of a “motel vibe” than a luxury one, and for the price point, I expected a bit more polish. Also, depending on timing, service and facilities can feel stretched we had elevator delays during our visit.nnOverall though, the setting makes up for a lot. If you want easy access to the park, the harbor, and downtown, this is hard to top. I’d stay here again for the location and amenities, just with the expectation that the rooms themselves lean more toward comfortable than luxury.
Beautiful hotel & lobby with really friendly and helpful staff. The location is amazing with the harbour views and the views over Stanley Park.nnThe reason for the 4 stars is that bathrooms should not have barn doors. It takes what should be a luxury experience down a peg.nnOtherwise, the hotel restaurants and pool are in great shape and a good time. Hotel seemed to be a nice mix of families and business travelers.
We only stayed here for a night but really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, that day only one elevator worked in the tower. However, we had a nice room with view in the pool and the water. I loved watching the water planes landing from the room.nThe rooms are a little older already but still they were quiet comfy. The interior needs an update soon but the location was the reason for booking it. My family also enjoyed staying at the pool in the sun.nAll the people we met who are working there were very friendly and supportive.
What impressed me the most about this hotel was the front desk staff – they were incredibly helpful, warm, polite, and always greeted us with big, genuine smiles. I’ve stayed in many hotels over the years, but I’ve never met such genuinely cheerful and kind receptionists. During our stay, a family member of mine wasn’t feeling well, and the staff immediately offered us some over-the-counter medicine, which was very thoughtful.nnOther aspects of the hotel were also excellent – the location is great, close to airport, the beds were very comfortable, the room was spotless, and the air conditioning worked really well.nnOverall, a solid 5-star experience in every aspect. If I visit Vancouver again, I will definitely choose this hotel.
