Barclay Hotel

Really lovely little hotel. It’s a step above staying in a hostel if you want your own privacy. It’s in a great location, you can walk anywhere, and it’s close to transit. While staying there it always felt clean and well kept. I would definitely stay there again in the future. No elevator though so just be aware of that.

Budget hotel, surprisingly clean and comfortable. Great location. However, rooms are small, internet isn't stable and there are not elevators. Staff is friendly.

For the price in such a good location, I wasn't expecting much. The room was small and dark. The view was of a very close building and windows with scaffolding around our window. The room was clean enough with spartan amenities. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall, the hotel is worn around the edges but the price was certainly right.

Save a few bucks and stay in a hostel OR spend an extra few bucks and go to a decent hotel, is my recommendation. The location and price were great! Being able to stay in downtown Vancouver for under 100/night is somemsort of a win... I guess. The staff is unwelcoming, the hotel is obviously old - which is ok if it wasn't for the moldy tub mat, lack of blankets and VERY poor internet connection. We were in a room right next to front desk and could not connect to any streaming services thanks to a very unsteady connection. They also have a bar downstairs and the sound reeeeeally carries. I don't think I feel asleep before 2am. I was also shocked with front desk/housekeeping not having a second blanket. When I called and asked for one, front desk said: "We don't have extra blankets, if you are cold turn up the heat." Tragically funny in my opinion, I have stayed in better Hostels...

NOT an accessible hotel. So many stairs. But the rooms are spacious and clean with decent wifi. There is also a nearby parking lot (behind the Landmark hotel) that let's you park all day/night for a price. There are a million restaurants and essential stores, not to mention sightseeing, nearby. Overall a great hotel, however I would recommend staying outside the city (maybe North Vancouver) for visitors, due to parking difficulties and downtown traffic.
