Centrally located downtown, directly across from the harbour. Rooms were large and clean, bed comfortable. Shower had good pressure/temperature and wi-fi worked well - however it is an open network. Fitness center is very large and well-equipped, and elevators are fast. On the downside - there were no outlets near my bed, so I had to plug my phone in on the other side of the room First World problems, I know!; they only provided one bottle of water per day I was a single guest, so maybe a couple would have gotten 2?; and it was cold when I was there so I turned the heat on, but the cleaning staff would turn the heat off when they cleaned - so when I returned to my room it was cold again.nnI found the restaurant to be way overpriced - $39 for the breakfast buffet. Food was average quality - nothing fantastic. Definitely not worth the price. The next day I had a regular breakfast that I think was around $22. After thant, I just went around the corner to A&W and had the same quality food for $13. I didn't bother trying anything else at the restaurant.nnStaff were cordial, without going out of their way to be welcoming - if that makes sense? They were friendly and professional, just not overly attentive or interested in going that extra mile.nnOverall, I will likely stay there again, as it is comfortable and convenient.
It might not be shiny and new, but it's a gem !nCheck in staff were unbelievably accommodating, went beyond above and beyond!nRoom was exactly as it should be, no frillssome might say slightly dated but I thought it was charming Stunning views, quickest walk possible to harbour and park/seawall...nI've been a fine dining chef for a quarter of a century and the food far exceeded my expectations, especially for a non brand new hotel. Menu was well curated, executed EXTREMELY WELL!nPriced fairlyespecially with the lunch coupon you receive at check outnService was solid, especially Pavel; always going above and beyond while putting a smile on your facenBartenders were greatnThe entire staff from check in to check out was phenomenal.nCan't beat the locationnWill one million percent be staying here again and would HIGHLY recommendnAgain it's not flashy like a brand new W hotel and may seem a little dated; but location, price point, service and attention to detail were second to none.nPerfect spot to take in what down town Vancouver and surrounding areas have to offer.
We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. The staff stood out for their professionalism and friendliness—they were always ready to help with a smile. The location was excellent, making it easy to get around. A very pleasant stay overall.
I would say this hotel is worth $100-$150/night. If you find that price point I suspect you will be fine with what you get.nnThe good:n- Rooms are fairly clean and quietn- The restaurant is decent and you may get a coupon to use.n- The gym is huge.n- The pool looks nice but was murky and a bit cold. I swam anyways so hopefully it was fine.n- good shower and water pressure in the room.n- beds are fairly comfortable and sheets are soft. Beds might be too soft for some but I was fine.n- location is close to all the downtown and coal harbour things without being in a loud location.nnCould use improvement:n- it’s an older hotel so the halls and doors just feel a bit dated.n- The room smelled a bit musty on entry.n- The hot tub was not very hot and the jets were out of service.n- overall rooms are quiet but you can hear when the room next to you gets serviced and there were some jarring sounds that can catch you off guard as you are drifting off, I assume from the climate control every so often it sounded like someone was opening a bottle of pop.n- shower head and water pressure are good but the bath is a bit shallow and not that it matters but the shower tiling was poorly done.
I’m extremely disappointed in the service at this hotel. We travelled here as a group and found ourselves checking into a hotel with no power. Despite having prebooked this hotel months in advance, there was no communication indicating that there could be a mandate from BC hydro to remove power during our stay. One of the rooms only had one bed despite reserving a room with two. The assistant manager said rooms are subject to availability and they can change the reservation, which defeats the purpose of a reservation especially one made so far in advance. The group was put on all different floors and everyone had to climb 6-14 flights of stairs because they did not have the guest elevator running contrary to a letter given at check in. Luckily no one in our group had mobility issues. One guest required power for a medical device and so they had to be moved to another hotel. When asked if there was anything that could be done for the experience, only 5 out of the 7 rooms were offered breakfast. The room with the single bed was “upgraded” already to a two bed room, as it was originally reserved, and so they would get no compensation. The other room was for the guests with medical device who had to travel to a different hotel. Since their room was “upgraded” for the night, they would also not get breakfast. What a joke.nI had to beg for breakfast for 5 rooms. No understanding or flexibility. A place with good service should have offered complimentary breakfast to all during check in for the inconvenience of having to trek up stairs to get to their rooms.nInstead of being accommodating, the assistant manager chose to stick closely to policy. Congratulations. Over a couple breakfasts, you lost some future business and gained yourselves a bad review.
