Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver

We recently stayed at this hotel and found the location to be its strongest feature. It’s only a short walk to English Bay and the Harbour front, with plenty of great restaurants and bars nearby. If convenience and walkability matter to you, this area is hard to beat.nnThe rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely maintained, and the beds were great. However, despite being marketed as a 5‑star property, the overall experience didn’t fully match that standard.nnConsidering the price we paid for a supposed 5‑star stay, the amenities felt underwhelming, especially compared to other 3‑ and 4‑star hotels we’ve stayed at that offered more value and better in‑room features.nnAnother issue we encountered was being charged for consuming something from the room cooler, even though we never opened it. This was frustrating and added to the feeling that the stay didn’t match the price point.nnI also want to mention, respectfully, that the staff did not feel particularly warm or welcoming. As a person of color, I felt a noticeable difference in how I was treated compared to other guests. This is based on my personal experience and I acknowledge I could be mistaken, but it did affect how I felt during the stay.nnOverall, the hotel delivers on location and room comfort, but falls short on amenities, value for money, and hospitality. For the price, I expected a more genuinely 5‑star experience.

We loved our stay at the Sutton. The location is perfect, the service was incredible and the common areas are beautiful.nnI didn’t use the pool but the gym is one of the best hotel gyms I have used. It has everything you need and it’s spacious. There were plenty of towels, a great water station and the apples are a nice touch.nnThe room was spacious as we stayed in the residences, however it’s quite outdated. I would expect it to feel more luxury for a 5 star hotel. It didn’t negatively impact our stay, it just wasn’t what I expected.

We had a great 4 night stay here. The check in process was smooth. We arrived past 10pm and the staff was friendly and accommodating during check in. The doormen always greeted us on the way in and out of the hotel. Rooms were clean, renovated, and modern. Comfortable bed and pillows. We always felt safe. This hotel is central to most touristy areas downtown. We were able to walk everywhere or take public transit. We didn't use the pool or go to the restaurant on site but both looked really nice. Convenient ice machine on our floor and water station in the lobby. Bring a reusable water bottle so you don't have to pay for the in-room hotel waters. Be careful if you move anything from the mini bar food or drinks. They have sensors and you will get charged if anything is removed. Overall, highly recommend. Thank you for a great stay.

Upscale, great location, clean & comfortable-yes! A few items to note:n-there’s no in-room frig. Well…there is one but it’s stocked with high priced mini-bar items & there’s a sign that says, “No Personal Items.“n-yes, there’s a chilled drinking water dispenser on the first floor by the gift shop but you have to sleuth it out. Bottle water & snacks in room are for purchasen-if you want to skip maid service, flip the cardboard door hanger over to activate the hotel’s promotion that to plant trees In lieu of fresh towels. Hopefully it really happensn-TV had limited channels & we couldn’t get the “Google Cast” working. Plus this feature only works with minimal select streaming apps.n-very close to an IGA grocery market which is handy for travelers.nWould definitely return!

Stayed here for 16 days.nnPros:n* Excellent location.n* The staff on the ground floor are amazing—friendly, professional, and always very helpful.n* The bed is incredibly comfortable.n* The restaurant is great.n* The gym is well-equipped and has everything you’d need.nnCons:n* The rooms are quite dark.n* Housekeeping could be much better. Even after requesting a deep clean upon check-in, the room never felt truly clean.n* The saunas don’t get hot enough.nnOverall:nA good hotel with a fantastic location, excellent staff, and great amenities, but the housekeeping and room brightness could definitely be improved.
