Hotel is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver. There are surrounding shops, restaurants, bars, market and drug stores. The place can get somewhat long to check in, as they only have one person to check in and no valet person in sight (even though they provide such service), and security is only available on the weekends in the evening hours. I liked the hotel, because they are very environmental friendly and has filter water fountain that guests can fill up on the bottles they provide. Another thing I also liked, they have few historic art pieces inside the hotel on each floor and rooms. The hotel does offer room service, they have in house concierge, in room safety box, 24/7 valet car ready, and they also have evening one hour wine hour on the main floor for stay in guests.

I booked a reservation based on the good ratings and reviews for this hotel. Much to my dismay I ended up cancelling my reservation after checking in and seeing the condition of the room. There were several hairs in the bathroom indicating a less-than-thorough cleaning before my check-in. There were also nail clippings in the carpet. Yuck! The detailed attention to cleanliness was very poor. To the credit of the hotel, the manager did offer to clean our room again (which they claimed they did while we were out, but upon return to the room the same hairs were in the bathroom). At that point they offered to move us to another room. That room had the same issues. Crumbs in the closet door track, hairs on the bathroom floor, and clothing tags on the carpet, indicting to me that it wasn't vacuumed. Detailed cleanliness should be the #1 priority for a hotel. The manager finally let me cancel the reservation without penalty (well I did have to pay $20 for parking), but she also said, "I can see you won't be happy and no room will be clean enough for you." Would anyone else be okay with hair and nail clippings?

I stayed at The Listel in Robson st for 2 weeks for a business trip. My stay was perfect! The room was nice, very comfortable bed, good room service. You can have a great free coffee every morning and free wine every evening. There is a small but nice gym in the building as well. Plus you'll be provided with a lot of touristic information about the city. Will come back for sure if I have the opportunity!

Great service, they treated us like royalty. 2 really nice restaurants in the hotel itself. Rooms were as expected, nothing amazing. Would stay here again if I go back to Vancouver. Valet service at the hotel was worth the $29 a day if you aren't too adept at city parking. Free French press every morning too, loved it.

Listel Hotel was fabulous! I strive to live a life with as little waste as possible. I was pleased to find compost and recycling in the hotel room. I also loved that glass bottles were provided to fill up with distilled water available on every floor. I was also given the option of getting my recipe emailed to me to reduce paper waste. The staff were wonderful. The room I stayed in was modern, clean, and comfortable. I was able to sip on a cup of tea and look out on the busy Vancouver street before closing the curtains and falling asleep. Next time I'm in town for work, Listel Hotel will definitely be my number one choice for a place to stay!
