Very clean but dated hotel. Could use a refresh for sure. 2 out of 4 elevators were broken which made for a slow time getting to your room. The cooler fridge was broken in our room and wasn't even cool but warm. The ice machine on floor 9 was barely giving ice and needs replacement. The room was clean and the bathroom was nice. Very nice shower and good pressure. Check in was easy and the staff was exceptional. The location was great for getting on a cruise, but other than that I probably wouldn't stay here again unless it was refreshed.
Location Location LocationnRooms are a bit dated and lack high end amenities that youd expect from a high end Hotel. The space inside the hotel is great but the rooms themselves could use a refresh. This hotel is all about the location. If you are looking for a centrally located spot to tour the city or in my case catching a cruise ship the next day this spot is for you. Friendly, helpful staff as well
5 Stars – Beautiful Hotel in a Perfect LocationnnThe Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver is a true gem, perfectly situated right in the heart of downtown and directly at the cruise ship docks. Its location alone makes it an ideal spot for travelers, whether you’re arriving, departing, or simply exploring the city.nnAlthough I didn’t stay overnight and can’t personally comment on the rooms, the rest of the property leaves no doubt that the accommodations are every bit as impressive as its reputation suggests. The hotel itself is strikingly beautiful, with an elegant, spacious interior that feels both modern and welcoming. It’s quite large, with multiple elevators, escalators, and plenty of areas to relax while waiting.nnOne of the hotel’s most remarkable features is the view. From the windows and outdoor areas, you’re treated to sweeping vistas of Vancouver’s harbor, the surrounding mountains, and the city skyline. Watching the cruise ships come and go with that stunning backdrop makes the setting truly unforgettable.nnInside, you’ll also find a selection of upscale shops and excellent dining options, which makes it convenient for guests and visitors alike. I spent several hours here after disembarking from our cruise ship while waiting for my airport transfer, and it turned out to be a very comfortable and enjoyable experience.nnFrom its prime location to its breathtaking views, atmosphere, and amenities, the Pan Pacific Vancouver is a standout hotel that perfectly complements the vibrant city around it. Even just passing through, it left a lasting impression, and I would gladly choose to stay here on a future visit.
The harbor view is beautiful, but that’s the only part that felt premium. Everything else fell far short of 5-star standards.nnService was consistently indifferent and the worst I have experienced in a 5 star Hotel so far: The welcome was cold, and staff went through the motions without a single personal touch. One receptionist even asked if we needed help with heavy luggage, then walked away without helping.nnOur first room smelled like smoke; only after complaining were we moved.nnCheckout was no better — no “How was your stay?” or “Do you need a taxi?” Just silence. When we asked to store our bags during breakfast, we were told to haul them down two floors ourselves. Only after insisting did they reluctantly agree to store them.nnThe billing was chaotic 685 CAD booked online, 785 charged on the credit card, 806 on the receipt with a made up German address from a city I never lived at. The rooms are dated, and the breakfast was subpar, nothing special, and only plain black coffee included unless you paid extra.nnFor a 5-star hotel, that’s embarrassing.nnBottom line: This never once felt like a 5-star stay. The Pan Pacific survives on its location, not on service. I’ve had better experiences at budget hotels. We will not return.
This is definitely not a five star hotel. As the most recent reviews all state, half of the elevators are down and have been for many weeks. But when mentioned to the staff, they say they will be fixed this week. It’s been weeks and weeks they’ve been down. You have to play the game of riding the elevator to the top then back down if you are on a lower floor. Also, there are no stairs to take as they are for use only in an emergency. The escalators also kept going out so you have to take stairs from the ground or underground up to the lobby. The staff are pretty friendly but the place is falling apart, literally. Not worth the price at all - and not to mention, five star hotels don’t have old shower curtains in the tub. There are many better hotels within walking distance which I’d suggest over this one. We won’t stay here again, again it is not much better than a three star hotel.
