Recently stayed here and it was one of the worst experiences in a hotel. For the amount we paid, I’d expect a lot more for a nicer hotel. It was beyond hot the entire time, we were told the AC hadn’t been turned on yet but was 20 degrees some days, had to actually go outside to catch a breath of fresh air. Had to ask for a fan which didn’t make it any better. Had to also ask for a mini fridge because there are 0 amenities in the room… I’d think for $2000 a night it says on the door you’d be getting a fridge or microwave. Then the comforters and sheets on both beds had stains and hair on them. Almost debated checking out early and going to a different hotel. Then we got room service, paid $100 for wings and nachos, wings came with wrong sauce and nachos were over cooked, barely any cheese, and extra of the toppings we asked to not have. Only good thing was the front desk and staff were super friendly and welcoming.
A great location, walking distance to BC Place. Some great breakfast options down the street, fast food and shopping. The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is dog friendly and that is why we booked with them. The doggy welcome package included use of a dog bed, bowls, a bag of treats, poop bags. We had a special tag for the door with our dogs name on it to alert any staff delivering food. The staff accommodated our request for our 2 rooms to be adjoining it was my 50th birthday and they sent up a special tray of desserts along with some drink vouchers. My husband and son had breakfast in the hotel which looked absolutely amazing. The dog relief station is within a block away. I would consider booking here again.nThe hotel has 2 ambassador dogs that are found at the concierge desk. They are living a great hotel life!
Horrible stay! AC was turned off in room for the entire day because it was earth day. Temperature in the room got up to 25C.nSorry but I’m paying for a room to be comfortable! When the AC was turned on the next day the AC does not work!!!! Have the temperature turned down to 18C since 6am as far as it will go with fan running at high which in my opinion is running at a very low speed and at 11:30pm temperature is at 22C. When I called front desk they told me to open my window and they could offer me a fan. How about you just actually turn the AC unit on and stop controlling the AC so guests can actually have a comfortable stay?? Would not recommend staying here, room also was not very clean, zero spot wiping ever done in this room!! This was very disappointing and would NEVER stay here again. Can’t even accommodate a simple thing as AC to make it comfortable is completely unacceptable to me and seems to be the common complaint of this hotel…likely an issue that should be addressed but is not being addressed!!
This is a gleaming hotel, and a marvelous place for a stay during the Christmas season. As far as as the smell of weed outside the hotel is concerned , I don’t think the hotel can play any role. The city has to take it up. The proximity to the local attractions is an added bonus. There was a minor issue with the heating in our room, within a couple of minutes we were given a portable room heater. The service was so good! The rooms are spacious, and comfortable, and ours had a great view of the city. The differently-themed holiday trees were such a visual treat! The housekeeping staff made sure that our room was neat, and everything was well-arranged. They gave me a big container of moisturizer for use during my stay, and suggested that I could buy one if I had taken a liking to it. The uniformed service attendants were very helpful with our luggage. I will definitely be going back!
Had both positive and negative experiences here. The staff were nice, the location in the city was good, but it also felt like a corporate money grab. Just them finding different ways to get a few more bucks out of us. It's clear in some basic areas they have lost sight of the hospitality aspect. The pool experience was atrocious, the hot tubs were out of service and covered with some weird AstroTurf type stuff. Also basic things like if you have the shower door closed it shouldn't leak water all over the bathroom floor. Places like the restaurant where more cash could be made the experience was great. But given the price I expected a better experience overall. Probably will not choose this hotel again.
