Here for a conference.nnLots to like: old architecture of the building. Central location close to Skytrain.nnGood: rooms are clean and spacious. Lots of rooms without tub. All food, drinks, on sensor. Dont touch if you don't want to be charged! Fast elevators. The FOB activation of the elevators are a bit clunky and have to hold for a long time. Like they seem to have moved to a wood-based card, instead of plastic.nnGym and pool salt: pretty modest and nothing fancy. For a high end establishment, I would expect real plants in the common areas.nnFood: was conference food. Breakfast continues to disappoint. Mostly sweet pastries or meats bacon, sausages. How about more fresh fruit, kefir, organic yogurts, whole grains? Dinner was ok.nnThe biggest issue i had was the hotel water for the shower. Lukewarm at best. Not sure if thia was room specific or across the building.nnOverall, I'd come back only if rates were commensurate with level of quality and refinement. In my travels, i would pay no more thab $250 per night. Conference.got room rate deal so don't know what it costs for average person.
Overall, our recent stay at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver was a pleasant experience, with a few notable highlights and drawbacks.nnPros:nThe location is excellent—right in the heart of downtown with plenty of restaurants, shopping, and easy access to the city. Upon arrival, we were offered an upgrade to a larger suite with a city view, which was a welcome surprise. The suite itself was comfortable, well appointed, and a relaxing place to unwind. We also enjoyed the food at Notch8; the quality was very good and the menu had some great options.nnCons:nDespite the generous suite upgrade, the ensuite bathroom felt surprisingly small for the room category. It included only a shower and a very small sink, which made the space feel cramped. The gym was nicely maintained but undersized for a hotel of this scale, and the sauna was unfortunately closed during our stay. While the food at Notch8 was good, the noise level was extremely high—definitely not the place for intimate dining, especially during happy hour. The hotel entrance was another challenge. Traffic was consistently backed up, making drop‑off and pick‑up a bit chaotic and difficult to navigate.nnOverall:nWe enjoyed our stay and appreciated several aspects of the property, but after doing some additional research, we realized the Fairmont Waterfront likely would have been a better fit for our preferences.
I’ve stayed at several Fairmont properties and prefer the downtown location. Not only is the location more central than the others, the staff and customer service far exceeds that of the other locations.nnFor starters, my child had a freak accident yesterday. The staff immediately addressed it. I maybe waited a few minutes. Maybe. Their response was so fast I didn’t even register we were out of the our room and into another in less than 10 minutes. The night manager and gent who rendered aid to my child will have my eternal gratitude.nnI’m impressed with how the staff handled and controlled the situation. It was a wild incident, but I’m thankful to the staff for addressing it immediately with concern and care.nnAll this to say that if something unlucky happens on your vacation, know that this staff is more than capable and equipped to handle it.nnI’m forever thankful to Yuki, last nights manager I didn’t catch his name, and the gentlemen who helped my child. I will continue coming back to this hotel every chance that arises.
We celebrated our 30th anniversary at Hotel Vancouver, and were completely overwhelmed by the upgrades, the details and kindness we were extended. It was such an incredible experience, we didn't want it to end. We booked a king size bed room on the Fairmont Gold floor, where we expected to enjoy free parking, a private reception desk on arrival, complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea and canapés in the Fairmont Gold Lounge. But the Hotel Vancouver magic actually only just started: we got to check in early AND were upgraded to the absolutely stunning MORNINGSIDE BEDROOM SUITE on the 14th floor. Wow, what an amazingly beautiful suite this is, we felt like royalty and were treated as such. Where ever we went in the Hotel, staff congratulated us on our anniversary and made sure we were enjoying our stay. Starting our celebration at the Gold Lounge, where we enjoyed a gorgeously presented and very tasty Afternoon Tea. I will dream about the Gingerbread Scones with clotted cream for a long time! When we heard about the themed speak easy pop up bar, we didn't expect to be seated, as it is booked way in advance, but when we arrived to just check it out we were greeted yet again with congratulations and not only given our own private room but two complimentary cocktails. We had planned to eat dinner at the fantastically winter wonderland decorated notch 8, but after seeing all the scrumptious canapés in the Gold Lounge we ended up having a excellent meal right there. Once we got back to our room, oh pardon me, our suite, we found that staff had left a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries with a sweet note, for us to make merry. What a lovely surprise after everything they already done for us. We also appreciated the late check out the next morning after yet another spectacular meal, this time a lavish breakfast buffet in the Gold lounge, so we could take advantage of the spa. Hotel Vancouver and its staff went way beyond our expectations to make our special day magical and we are very grateful for all the big and little extras they thought of to make this anniversary truly remarkable.
I booked a standard room at this hotel for the weekend before taking a cruise. The hotel has a classic high end vibe. Service at the front desk was friendly.nn the location is great, it feels safe for tourists. The subway station is two blocks away you can take the subway from the airport to the hotel. Shopping district is nearby as well as the cruise terminal.nn the rooms are spacious, matress and pillows are comfortable.nn the hotel lobby looks like a mini shopping mall with luxury stores. Also, there’s a restaurant that I did went to but it was fully booked, so I guess it was good.nn‍‍‍ family and kids friendly.nn the hotel is fully equipped with facilities for people with restricted mobility.nn Don’t miss the photo gallery in the basement. There are pictures of all the famous people that have visited the hotel.
