Just stayed at the Yorkville Royal Sonesta with my sister this past Monday/Tuesday. The hotel was beautiful! From the lobby, to the hallways, and to the room! Nicely updated, and very clean. Our room was a one that had 2 queen beds with a corner window looking onto the courtyard. This room was perfect, very welcoming, and comfortable. The room has great amenities too which included an ice bucket, wine glasses, robes, iron/ironing board, and everything you might need in the washroom. For a one-night stay where we didn't use any hotel facilities, I would say it's slightly overpriced once you add on the facility fee of an additional $25+tax and the valet parking at $59+tax. This room for a one-night stay was over $500. While it was in fact gorgeous and elegant I feel the price point was a bit high and might reconsider staying here next time for that reason only.
Elegant hotel - very comfortable and luxurious rooms and bathrooms. It is quiet as well, which is great being in the city. The hotel is walking distance from some excellent restaurants and is convenient to the subway. The breakfast was also very good.
Had a great experience here. Rooms were nice, beds really comfortable. And the staff were extremely helpful. If I am ever back in Toronto I will definitely stay here again. Great location to subway, makes it easy to go a lot of places.
I stayed here for a work related trip. I love booking unique hotels and thought I would have an exceptional experience. The front desk staff are friendly. The hotel is clean. The rooms are clean and comfortable but didn't give me a wow effect. When I arrived, I noticed the front desk offered someone checking in ahead of me a bottle of water. I'd just arrived from the airport. No one helped with my bags as I entered the hotel or up to my room. When it was time to check out, I wasn't offered any assistance as well. I love a great turn down service and believe it would be an added touch. Coffee and tea are offered in the rooms but no water to accompany them. An assortment of teas during the day and and a herbal bedtime tea at turn down would be a nice addition. The book Unreasonable Hospitality is a great book, I'd recommend. For the cost and given the appearance of the hotel, I believe more could be given in terms of service. The Intercontinental in Lyon France has gotten it right as it relates to service. It would be great if the GM could spend some time there bring back any ideas. In all, the hotel took care of what was necessary but nothing beyond that to set themselves apart from many other hotels.
I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. The hygiene levels were unacceptable; despite multiple requests, the towels were not changed, as evidenced by a coffee stain that remained. I also had difficulty getting assistance with my luggage, as my calls went unanswered, forcing me to handle it myself while my driver waited. Additionally, the bed sheets had a very unpleasant smell. I would not recommend this hotel. Park hayat is nearby and much better for almost a similar price.
