A good room in an ideal location with superb service.nnWe spent a mini weekend staycation here for 2 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff at the front desk were extremely inviting, warm, and helpful. Check in was very fast and we had no issues.nnOur room, which delightfully turned out to be a corner unit, had everything we needed and I would describe it as cozy. It was not the most spacious, but at the price point and location, I think it met our expectations. It was clean and did not have any funky odours. The heater worked very well, the TV had a good number of channels as well as streaming apps, and the bathtub was a godsend and it was usable. We also had quite a good view. The noise suppression impressed me, both from the outside and from the hallway. There was virtuously no outside noise and it made sleeping incredibly easy.nnThere were of course a few minor eyesores, such as some questionable caulking in the shower/tub, scrape marks around the vanity/furniture, etc., and the TV was precariously hanging at an almost comedic angle, but nothing that I’d consider unreasonable. The mattress was not as firm as I’d find utmost comfortable, but I think for most guests it would suffice. The choice of soft and firm pillows was adequate, however I will say the bath towels were very rough and not at all soothing.nnWhat made this place stand out to us, and what was a big deciding factor in our pursuit to find somewhere to stay, was the pool. We were slightly unprepared for the [public pool-esque] changing rooms at first, and the fitness room overlooks the pool which we are never big fans of, however the water was incredibly refreshing. I cannot say for certain, but it almost felt like a very mild saltwater. The pool area has limited seating/loungers, and given the relatively small size of the pool I could see it getting crowded fairly easily, however thankfully it was not busy when we went. We had a great time swimming all things considered, and just the availability of a pool in this location was super enticing.nnThe location of the hotel is great - close by to nearly everything. There are good restaurant options in the surrounding blocks for every meal, shoutout to the 24/7 Denny’s and Duke of Cornwall, and of course close to the eaton centre, hospital, university, queens park, etc. Lakeshore/the entertainment district may be a little bit of a hike and would be doable in the warmer Summer months, but it’s a short and relatively affordable cab when it is too cold.nnOverall we had an enjoyable and satisfying stay, we left with a good impression and would definitely recommend and return if/when the need arises.
The rooms are a tad dated and dark albeit that is the nature of a city with skyscrapers.nnHowever, the bathroom gel etc all smelled lovely and were good quality. We appreciated the free water in Europe we’re often charged for this discretely so we appreciate the Canadian hospitality! and the cookies were delicious as always.nnThe gym was the best and largest we’ve been in on our trip.nWe didn’t use the pool but it seemed a good size.nnUnderground parking available - I think included in the price but not sure.nnIf you’re catching a flight from Pearson then allow plenty of time for travel, it took us 1.5 hours to get there from the hotel minus time to top up fuel.nnGreat location to walk to key attractions.
We had a great experience staying here over a weekend recently. We were checked in by Tim who was super friendly and funny, and gave us some cookies. The cookies were delish, we asked Tim for some more later that night and he obliged and then again the next day ;nnWhen we asked for an extra towel, we were helped immediately and same with more bottles of water, which we had asked for over text, when they were asking how our stay was.nnOn top of the excellent service, the rooms were clean and got the job done, the location of the hotel is in a great spot, right downtown, walking distance to multiple subway stations, Eaton centre and Yonge and Dundas.nOverall: good stay, no complaints, shout out to Tim :
Great experience here. Most important the Bed was comfortable with plenty of soft pillows and bedding. The shower had plenty of space the water got very hot and ample water pressure. The location isn't bad either for downtown plenty of attractions stores and bars in easy walking distance. There is a restaurant on site for breakfast with a bar open till 11. The staff is also very attentive quick to check you in and out get you to where you need to be and watch your bags as needed.
The room is cozy n clean.nThe morning breakfast buffet is sort of pricey, if there is no any cold cut n smoke salmon selection like they offered before.nLook forward to seeing some changes or enhancements being improved.nCome n check it out.
