Rooms were updated and comfortable, but a lot of noise transmission through walls/door from exterior hallway and other rooms. Staff were very friendly and the café was excellent! Very good food overall for brunch. Decent coffee as well. The complimentary Gold level buffet was disappointing. Not much variety. Fairly plain in the presentation. Overall my stay was fine, but I may look elsewhere next time I am in the area.
I booked a room at this hotel and had forgotten my photo ID, and as a result I was not allowed to stay. I even showed the person at the front desk a photo of my ID my husband sent a photo but was still not allowed to stay, and when I eventually requested to speak to management to escalate the matter, that was denied. I understand that it is a policy for all guests to have photo ID, but I found the way this was handled was very poor. I think just a bit of empathy or an offer to look up another hotel in the area would have made all the difference. Luckily, I was able to find a room at a nearby hotel, with the same ID policy, by showing the photo of my photo ID. I hope in the future, the Marriott will ensure staff are trained and supported to treat people in the same predicament with more respect and a bit of compassion.
Had a great stay at this property as part of a three-day business trip. The front desk staff was attentive and welcoming. The cafe staff was also very helpful, accommodating my special dietary requests. The rooms were quiet and I slept well. And it's a 3-minute walk to the TTC College/Yonge subway stop, which made for a very easy car-free visit to bustling Toronto.
The staff were amazing. Every single person who I interacted with were friendly, and extremely helpful. I can't overstate how good the staff were.nnThe room wasn't great. It was fine to stay in for a night but I wouldn't stay here again, and I wouldn't want to stay here for more than 1 night.nnI stayed in room 211 of the south tower over the long weekend and the room was just ok, the beds seemed clean and they were comfortable.nnThe downside: the bathroom fan didn't seem to work, it didn't have a switch and it didn't seem to turn on with the light switch. The bathroom smelled musty and damp. The wallpaper in the bathroom was also dirty, possibly oil marks from hands.nnThe biggest downside:nThe AC/heat system in the bedroom was extremely loud, we travel with earplugs but it still woke us up a few times throughout the night when it would kick on and rattle. The air coming out of it was also smelly. It seemed like it needed to be serviced.nnThe room was right next to the elevator shafts which added to the noise. And they were running a constantly all night. If you stay here, make sure you're not near the elevators.
$52 plus tax daily for Valet Parking and no other parking option... kinda disappointing. Seems to be a common theme in these reviews, might want to do something about that. Lower the price to something reasonable. Nice hotel rooms and great location, nice staff too.
