Holiday Inn Express & Suites Calgary

We love the location and the in suite jacuzzi tubs. It's clear the rooms have been recently renovated, and while the finer details of the stay aren't exactly luxury, this is a well run, clean, and reasonably priced hotel to stay at.nnWe did have some challenges at the end of our first stay, but management was respectful and helpful, so I left the experience feeling good as a customer.

I had a very pleasant experience after spending a couple of nights at this hotel! The first thing that impressed me was the politeness and helpfulness of the staff. The room was extremely clean, smelled fresh, and the bed linen was so crisp and perfectly ironed. We were visited a couple of times by very polite and friendly housekeepers who cleaned the room impeccably. The room also had all the amenities needed for a longer stay. I definitely recommend this hotel!

This hotel with excellent service. My room was spotless, cozy, and well-designed — I can really tell that the staff cares about the guests. The cleaning is always done, everything feels fresh and tidy every day. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming.

RidiculousnnI tried to book a night at this hotel, but at the time I didn’t have a credit card. I CALLED them the day before to ask if I could book a room WITHOUT A CREDIT CARD and use ONLY DEBIT. They told me yes, no problem.nnI’m aware that if you don’t have a credit card, you usually have to pay a temporary security deposit. It was odd that they didn’t mention this on the phone. So I went ahead and booked through a website.nnWhen we arrived at the front desk, the staff member asked for a credit card to proceed with the room. I explained that I didn’t have one and that I had specifically CALLED and ASKED if it was NECESSARY, and was told it was NOT. He then said, “Oh, you need to have a credit card.”nnI was very disappointed and was about to leave when he suddenly said, “Wait, let me see if I can do something.” Right as we were at the door, he mentioned there was an option to pay a security deposit instead, something that was never explained to me on the phone. The deposit was $800. Insane. I didn’t have $800 available, so we had to leave.nnLater, I tried to get a refund. Apparently, their terms and conditions “clearly” state that a credit card is required. Which I was never made aware of in the first place. They even asked me for proof of the phone call. Who records a call like that? Of course I didn’t have proof because I trusted their customer service.nnHorrible experience.nI will never stay at this brand again.

I’ve been a paying monthly parking customer at this property for months. Recently, after missing a renewal period due to illness, I received a city-issued parking ticket. When I went in immediately to address it, the manager’s response was not only dismissive but openly rude.nnInstead of explaining policy clearly or approaching the situation with basic professionalism, I was met with condescending remarks and pressure tactics that felt inappropriate and unnecessary.nnPolicies are understandable. Disrespect is not.nnLong-term paying customers should not be treated as inconveniences when attempting to resolve an issue in good faith. The lack of courtesy and transparency during what should have been a straightforward conversation was disappointing and speaks volumes about management standards.
