I'm sitting in this property as I type this. All the reviews are accurate and it just depends on how fancy you are for it to be fine or not fine. We are not fancy and therefore this stay was great. Close to the C train, beds are the most comfortable out there and quiet/spacious rooms. There is key card access only to the underground parking area and it feels very safe overall.nnThe velvet couches in the lobby are charming but if you don't like thrift-store chic, you're going to think it looks dated. The outside is being remodeled so it looks a little rough but the inside is fine. Yes, the pool is backdropped by floor to ceiling plywood during this remodel but guess what, it works, has a water slide and my kids had no complaints.nnThe hot tub was a little lukewarm as someone else reported and the western omelet is a staple at each breakfast but unless you're bougie to the max, you'll have no problem with this stay. There are a million breakfast options so anyone complaining about food just complains about everything.nnOur only concern - we booked two rooms for more space from our kids for this family vacation and chose to have an adjoining room only to check in and find out they couldn't accommodate it. We were disappointed but not much you can do about it when you're 5 hours from home. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights across week days and a weekend.
Do not book here if you are a visible minority. They are incredibly and I mean INCREDIBLY rude. My husband prepaid for the room in full prior to our arrival and booked under his name. This is very much the hotel I was at. The front desk clerk was very rude when checking in right off the bat without any reasons. We kept asking him to repeat himself because he couldn’t bother to speak without mumbling as if we were a nuisances. We were not aware we needed a credit card to check in. No big deal, if they had been kind in any way but this person was horribly aggressive, they began to raise their voice at me when I was speaking very calmly. My husband asked him to be more respectful and even their coworker approached to deescalate them as they could hear I was pleading for this man to stop being rude and to assist in any way he could to figure out a solution. After continuing to raise his voice at me I asked that he refrain from being aggressive as I haven’t done anything and am speaking calmly, he then threatens to call the police on me! Customer service training is very much needed. Call them for what, I was simple asking how I would not be stranded in a foreign town and if there was a place I could sleep tonight since the hotel I paid for won’t let me check in. I offered to pay any amount for a deposit or even get a prepaid card. Anything and this man was just trying to call the police on me and refused to even get management.nnI am in town for a very serious reason and a simple “sorry this is policy but here is somewhere close by” would have been sufficient but yelling at me while I’m trying to find a solution isn’t it. We happily went down the road to the Best Western where they happily made an exception and understood our situation. Shame on this establishment. Do not stay here and support such treatment.
I am extremely disappointed with my stay at this hotel due to the unbearable noise from ongoing renovations. Even with the windows closed, the noise was overwhelming—intermittent, unpredictable, and impossible to tolerate. It severely disrupted my ability to work and rest. I switched rooms three times, but every room had the same issue. Ultimately, I had no choice but to leave and book another hotel, which cost me extra time, money, and effort.nnTo make matters worse, when I requested to check out at 2 p.m. because of the noise, I was still charged for an additional full day for a room I didn’t even use. I haven’t even asked for a refund for the first night! It is completely unacceptable to charge guests for such a disruptive experience. I demand my money back. Is this the kind of service that is acceptable for a hotel that remains open to guests?
Stayed overnight with my mother. Rooms were clean and smelled of bleach when we entered. There was a slight scuzzy feeling in the tub along the sides, however, and the plug was broken so I had to fight with it to take a bath. Tubs are also EXTREMELY shallow so if you value good tubs not the place for you. The 'view' out of our 1st floor window was a huge disconnected/broken rooftop ventilation unit, so that was... nice. No lights on the ceiling; only option to light the room is lamps. Bathroom door is un-lockable, as it's just a sliding panel, so little privacy. Beds were comfortable enough. The breakfast left a lot to be desired, orange juice was watery, staff member overheard me mention to my mother and didnt bother checking, coffee was burnt and 2/3 cereal dispensers were broken. The oatmeal looked very dry and unappealing; the only options for fruit were whole apples or oranges. You'll get a bed and something to put in your belly in the morning, but that's about all I can say. They did have a waffle station though, so points there. Not the best or worst hotel I've stayed at; but I wouldn't pick it again myself.
ONLY STAY HERE IF YOU ARE DESPERATE !!! We have had our children stay there and we also did a family vacation and stayed there because of location. NOT THE Hotel We are rewards members and must stay where we are familiar with the mattresses due to health/back issues. We are booked to stay here to see our spinal specialist that is 5 min. from hotel, it was the day after the Inclusion holiday and we couldn’t get paid by 3 different contracts due to closed banks, but still paid our staff. The hotel canceled us even though we said we would have the money as soon as the banks opened. When we tried to speak to the manager she wouldn’t even let us speak, just kept cutting us off and didn’t have any patience or compassion at all!!! Sooooooooooooo disappointed! This is not normal service from a Hampton or Hilton!!! Wow!!!
