We had site 34, the week we went the sites next to ours were vacant so that was very nice. Be sure to get ice or fire wood before you get to Tea lake campground their office is closed. Park rangers are friendly but don't really stick around. Washrooms were clean, showers as well but no hot water but they are nice & big & private. We absolutely loved our stay there, I would highly recommend track and tower trail & Lake of Two Rivers Store and Cafe!
Clean bathrooms, warm shower, beautiful views. The ice/wood station at the entrance of the campground wasn’t working. It may be useful to buy it before getting there.
Tea Lake Campground is a nice spot to venture out with the canoe to the adjacent lakes. We were lucky to get a quite private campsite #38 and were not much affected by highway noise. Family washrooms toilet and sink in one room were great! Site office was closed not clear whether it was a Covid-related closure and staff was only on site to clean washrooms, so no one was around to sell wood, issue day use permits, and take care of campers causing excessive noise at night. It would be great to mention that in the booking confirmation, so one can plan ahead to get wood and permits elsewhere.
I got a spot in front of the lake. It was very nice!
Good place. Clean bathrooms. Sites are smaller than the pictures show. Don't get site 7 as it's on a hill and covered in ground wasps. Staff were great at helping to try and rid the wasps though!
Beautiful trees in Algonquin Park
Camped here on opening weekend in mid-May. The campgrounds and sites were nice however there was no running water meaning no showers, no toilets, no water taps that weekend. There was no advisory posted to the website and we stopped by the information centre on our way in and no one said anything. Not having running water when we specifically chose a campsite that offered it was a huge damper on an otherwise great weekend.
No office at the camp, you have to drive east 8 miles to Canisbay campground to buy fire wood and ice and there was no firewood when we arrived. It is clean though and the lake is amazing. Overall it was a nice experience.
I'd say that about half of the campsites here should NOT be used. They're painfully close to highway 60 which is used all-night-long by tractor trailers — literally zooming by within 10 meters of your tent. It sounded like a jet airplane was about to crash on top of us while we attempted to sleep. Seriously. Ontario Parks should close all of the Tea Lake campsites that are near the highway. There are some more isolated campsites here that I assume must be quieter and more protected, but honestly, I'm ashamed and embarrassed as a Canadian to have many of those Tea Lake campsites in operation. For tourists visiting our province or country, or urbanites trying to escape the city, these close-to-the-highway campsite are absolutely disgraceful and unacceptable. When booking, the Ontario Parks website does indeed note that noise was higher than usual at the site I booked, but the volume was ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE. Three sleepless nights and I live in Toronto and can tolerate noise!. I'm ashamed and embarrassed of this camping experience as a Canadian. This is not what camping in our beautiful Algonquin Park should be like for anyone. From a technical standpoint, the facilities bathrooms, etc. were all well cared for, clean, and in good working order.
Check in is still located at Cannisbay Campground as of August 23, 2022.
