We booked our Highway 60 corridor for a drive through in Algonquin provincial park. Mesmerizing view of fall colors. I would highly recommend to book your car permit in advance if you are planning to go there for fall colors. Various spots to stop your car and enjoy the scenic beauty of the place. Parking were limited on the spots. Better to start your day early and reach there.
Took an east to west gate tour, stopping at logging museum, lookout, info centre, lake of two rivers and hardwood lookout. Stayed overnight in cottage resort outside the park. I completed a 600 km drive for the complete trip. It’s worth the time. Fall is the best season for nature lovers.
First Time Passing Through Beautiful Algonquin Okay. For us we only stopped here for the purpose of using the washrooms and getting info for a future trip down here from Ottawa. We were on our way to Parry Sound so there was no point to pay $18 to stop and visit some of these breathtaking sites. Staff was friendly with ample parking and bits of décor such as the totem pole. We were lucky to stop by on a not-so busy Sunday last Aug. Hwy 60 corridor was well maintained all the way to the western gate.
Algonquin park is an amazing place! I spent great time camping, hiking, canoeing, Ang hanging out with friends. The landscape is just divine. I really recommend it, but you need to book in advance. It's hard to find some available dates on camp sites.
Beautifully park, so much unspoiled. Can't wait to visit in the fall. Photos aren't the greatest I was on the back of a motorcycle!
Always a good spot to get info. Nice comfort station available and a cool totem pole.
We went to the centennial ridge trail too bad we didn’t finish the whole trail because of the time, beaver pond trail, whiskey rapids trail, and logged museum. The chipmunks are friendly ! We were lucky enough to catch a footage of wild moose!!! Wear nicer shoes as the road trails are pretty muddy
Place to start with morning birds and freshen up after long drive. Paid respect to children of First Nations who need justice.
Amazing place to camp, canoe and fish. staff are very helpful. We stayed at Lake Opeongo and the kids had a great time. Lots of options for families or more advantageous portaging/remote locations
This is a beautiful park. At this time of year tapestries of colour open before your eyes with each hill and curve along highway 60. Trails abound throughout the park with varying degrees of difficulty. Clear water lakes, sandy beaches and campgrounds await water and camping enthusiasts.
