Amazing place to relax and enjoy wild life and outdoor activity. Recharge your mental battery here :-) Tons of trails for everybody. From easy to most impegnative. I find a kayak is the best way to explore lakes and rivers here. Make sure to bring necessary water, sunscreen and at the very least a bear bell if you plan to go out for a hike. Summer time is very hot therefore make sure you schedule the hike for early morning. There is also winter camping. Check the info on the main website to find out which camp is open in the winter.

Algonquin is a beautiful country area with tons of activities for all. There are difficult and long hiking trails but also very short and flat trails which are equally as good. There is a ton of information out there for quired hikes. Also every night there is a kids learning show which even as an adult I enjoy!

To rate the park as a whole is like judging an encyclopedia by AA. There are endless canoe routes, endless camping spots lots of lakes, tons of hiking trails, mountain bike trails, cross country ski trails. There's just so much to do at this park, so many things to see so many places to visit. I love this park and have visited 10+ times. Arrive early and you'll never have any line ups. Plan a route that involves more than one day (hiking) or a route with a portage or two and you'll hardly see anybody.

This is one of my favourite places in the province. Always a lot of fun to explore. Late September is the best time to go if you can, no bugs and cool nights go along with spectacular views of fall foliage. If you are looking to see moose up close and personal, early spring is the time for you, but be sure not to get too close. They're still wild animals after all. If you do visit in early spring invest in a mosquito head net, best purchase you'll ever make.

Absolutely gorgeous! There is a new place to visit every time you come here. The park rangers are always out taking care of things even the more frequented Backcountry campsites. So much to do in all seasons. Hiking, canoeing, snowshoeing, skiing, etc.
