I arrived at their store literally 30 seconds after 6 PM. The closing time was 6 PM and the doors were locked but there were staff inside the store and there were some customers checking out. I needed an item that was very important and couldn’t wait until the next day but the manager refused me entrance. I told him I knew what I need ed and I’d be very quick, but he still refused. Is that what you call customer service? Send that manager back to training school!
The best place for service. What they don't have they will order and staff are well versed in obscure hardware needs. One of the few places where you can still get nails and screws by the pound in paper bags. Environmentally and cost effective. Bravo!
I witnessed the blonde female manager working at Customer Service today 10/28 be very rude to the customer ahead of me in line. The customer was asking a question about a store policy, and this manager was condescending, nasty, and downright mean. What prompted me to leave this review was when the manager flipped her hand at the customer in dismissal, it actually looked like she was going to hit the customer in the face with her hand. It was very disturbing. I've had bad service at this location myself before but just ignored it. Today was the exception that made me speak out. Employees like this are very expensive to a business owner, because they make people stop shopping at your store.
They had puzzles on sale ,the whole rack was on sale from 9.00 to 11.00 so I picked two and went to cash out and one rang up at 22.00 so I asked why ? it is the same company and size as the all the rest on the rack,first we don,t know,than well some times not all on sale?than why was every other puzzle on sale? Oh the others must be discontinued they said and the one I picked is not. So I said your only going carry one puzzle@ 22.00 ? Yes they said. So I purchased only the one @ 11.00. One of the girls walked by me at the cash with a big grin on her face I said you think this is funny or joke don,t you? yes I do she replied.my wife said you should have just left everything and walked out,I will not go back,that was not a customer friendly experience.
User friendly, good parking, never a line up. Smaller selection compared to Home Depot but always find what's needed.
And they wonder why Home Depot will put them out of business one day. I will never step foot in their store again. I bought a small kids pool at another location and realized it was too small. Tried to take it back to the Newmarket store and because there was a bit of dust in the bottom which was how I purchased it from the other store as they were outside the female manager said we can’t take it back. Honest to god a Kleenex could have cleaned it but no not her. So one day lady when you are standing in the unemployment line because the store closed down remember all the stupid decisions you made as the manager. Signed a former customer who tired to support the little guys but not anymore because common sense just didn’t come to mind.
Curtis was a lovely young man who helped me immeasurably with measuring the right type of bolts. Great job and good luck in finding your relatives from Cork!

I enjoy shopping at Newmarket Home Hardware on Davis Dr. It's not too large but it is well stocked. The staff are very helpful. Covid protocols are in place. It feels like a safe environment for shopping. If I do need to order something they are able to get the items in quickly. My family and I have been shopping there for years.
Was advised that this store doesn’t care to follow the Ontario by law for face coverings. Expressed to an employee that I cannot wear a mask due to being hospitalized due to asthma and masking, advised her I think her name was Ann couldn’t see any visible name tag that I wear a face shield as of a DOCTORS order. I asked if I could speak to management about my issue and I was told “that’s not how this works” I am beyond appalled because when I brought up the by laws I was also told “well I didn’t hear about it” how can someone with ZERO care about someone medical conditions and absolutely no knowledge about the by laws be allowed to control customers. I guarantee I will never return to this spot ever again
