Story

The Michael Garron Hospital, of the new Toronto East Health Network, formerly Toronto East General Hospital, has been proudly serving the community of East Toronto since 1929, when it opened its doors as a 110-bed general hospital. Over the years, the hospital has continually renewed its commitment to the community it serves. Today, TEGH is a large, urban, full-service community teaching hospital, providing comprehensive care to a diverse population of 400,000, representing over 45 cultural and linguistic groups.

During my recent visits to this medical facility, I have been impressed with the level of comfort and care provided by the staff. The nurses and doctors were extremely kind and considerate throughout my stay, checking up on me regularly and ensuring that my needs were met. They provided me with food when I was hungry and offered me warmed blankets to make me feel more comfortable.nnMoreover, I was highly impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. The room that I was staying in was immaculately clean and well-maintained. The washrooms were cleaned every hour, which was reassuring to know. Overall, I felt very safe and confident in the care I received and felt no hesitation in leaving the facility.nnI am grateful for the excellent care and attention provided by the staff during my stay, and I would highly recommend this medical facility to anyone in need of medical care.
I recently have my 1st baby born in this hospital and overall it was really very nice experience.nn1st of all I would like to appreciate Christina for doing fabulous job. She does outstanding care and shows unrelenting dedication to her patients. She answered all my questions & gave proper information for all the doubts.nnAlso I am very thankful to Fatima Rahman and Paige Martin for being with me all the time during my labour. Both of them provided continuous support and their frank behaviour and generosity relived half of my pain during labour.nnAll the hospital staff including reception and seniors staff members were supportive, offered guidance at every stage and showed great care. Due to C-section, I was not able to go nursery room to see my baby.. but the senior authority Don’t exactly know her name asked the staff to take me to my baby with my bed which made my day. So a big thanks to her .nnAgain, Many Thanks.
I genuinely wish I could rate this hospital less than 1 star. Inconsiderate staff & unnecessarily long wait times. Pretty sure the doctor took a nap before coming into our room. And the amount of attitude the staff has here is actually ridiculous considering it’s a hospital. If you do not have the heart to work with people, or even be a nice person please do not consider working in an hospital. It just doesn’t make any sense. It feels like this hospital only hires people who are spawns of evil. It’s unfortunate that this hospital is closest to me because I have not once ever had a good experience here.
I was very disappointed in the care at this hospital. The nurses were very rude. You were provided with confusing information. There was miscommunication and understanding between the nurses. Albiet my grandmother was sick, and elderly but they pretty much treated her with less care and importance. Very terrible and would not recommend it. The only nurse who was very caring and tentative was Katrina on 7th floor. She is the really good. The only sensitive one. The rest of the nurses and staff was very rude and not compassionate. Especially with our family and the comfort care we are experiencing currently.
Although a very sad time for my family, my dear dad was given the compassion and care that one could only hope for in his final hours.nEveryone from the ER nurses, doctors and administrators to the palliative care team were truly impressive. What a remarkable challenge they face each and every day and yet they do it with such grace, passion and dignity. Thank you
