I love that we have a grocery store that is so close and has plenty of parking. I love their family size salads . The store has always been clean and tidy when I've shopped here and the staff have always been friendly.nHaven't had an issue with produce, meats, etc that required a return.nAgain, just super grateful to have a grocery store so close as there are lots of people that live in food deserts.
Received a delivery recently only to find that of the bag of oranges, all were spongy and four were rotten. Have purchased barbecued chicken in the past that was so old that it was bone dry. Again, had to be discarded. Prices are high, quality is low. Happily, there are other options. This used to be a fine place to shop. Those days, in my experience, are over.
This must be one of the most expensive grocery stores in Ottawa relative to the quality of stuff.nnYou know how people post pictures of prices of things in Nunavut so you can gasp at the excessive cost of things there? No need to go to Nunavut, just hop into this YIG and try and buy strawberries for 10 bucks or feta cheese for 35 bucks. Better hope you don't accidentally pick up anything from the organic section.nnGood availability of stuff, though.
Consistently terrible produce. I don't really understand how the management feels it's up to parnnEdit Feb 7 2025: lowering from 2 stars to 1. Easily the worst produce I've ever seen in a grocery store and it's bad every single time and I shop here once a week unfortunately. On top of that their meat has a fridge life of about 2 days before it starts rotting. I really hope they can turn this around because this place sucks
I love the “made-in-house” display; at this store, specifically. Every store should take notes. It’s inviting, visually appealing and bags a sale from my bf everytime we stop by. dutifully guiding our eyes left to explore the rows of ready to eat meals, and back as we find ourselves at the meals-to-go or deli counter. The real genius though: is in its tactful approach in spontaneously filling our heads with exciting new dinner ideas- while forgetting once again that “there was a list.”nOooops.nnI did not give 5 instant price increases that have happened not only here- but, MANY businesses- since the minimum wage increase was announced has me all sorts of åÑġr¥.
