Long & McQuade Musical Instruments

I’ve been dealing with Long & McQuade for over 11 years, mainly with the Kingston, ON store, and have always been super impressed with their service and professionalism. Unfortunately, my recent experience at the Hunt Club Rd store in Ottawa was the complete opposite.nnI called ahead about selling a pair of Yorkville EXM Mobile Tower speakers — only a year old and in great shape. The person on the phone said to bring them in so they could take a look. I drove an hour to get there, only to be ignored for several minutes when I arrived. When someone finally spoke to me, they didn’t seem to know what I was talking about. It’s surprising, considering Yorkville is one of the main brands Long & McQuade carries.nnAfter some confusion and without even looking at the speakers, they checked the computer and I was told, “We already have five of those; we don’t want them.” That could have easily been said over the phone before I wasted a 2 hour round trip.nnI later called the Hawkesbury store, and even they couldn’t understand why the Ottawa location wouldn’t take them — especially since they could easily be used as rentals.nnIf you value your time, avoid the Hunt Club Rd store. I’ve had nothing but great experiences elsewhere with Long & McQuade, but this location missed the mark completely.nnUpdate:nnThe manager of the Hunt Club Rd Long And McQuade contracted me and apologized big time for the way I was treated at the store. He said we brushed you off and that wasn’t right. He offered to me to bring the speakers back and give me asking price for them. That’s how customer service works. I now I have a renewed faith in the Long And McQuade store in Ottawa.

I came to Long & McQuade to rent a guitar, and it was honestly one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had. It took over an hour and a half just to complete the rental, and the staff kept asking me endless questions instead of just helping me get what I needed.nnFor something that should’ve taken 10 minutes, it turned into a long, tiring process. I won’t be coming back here again — the whole experience was way too slow and unorganized.

Evie is a LIFESAVER! I ordered an amp to be delivered here from another store, and when it came in, it was the wrong model.nnI needed the amp quickly for regular open mics I host, and I have one coming up. Evie came to the rescue and found me the correct model from another location. She was super sweet and it came in extremely quick! Like.. literally day after! Insane!nnShoutout to Evie- gave amazing customer service and taught me how to use the amp

The place to go for musical instruments! Best prices and knowledgeable staff.nnSeptember 27, 2024 Update:nSo my 12 string had a mysterious issue with its neck separating from the base of the body resulting in increased string action height. Not good. I took it in under warranty to have it checked out. The next day I had a replacement guitar! It doesn't get any better than that. Thanks Terry, and the staff at the Ottawa location for an easy and straightforward experience.nI highly recommend Long & McQuaid for their products and service.

Unfortunately, I did not receive good service. I called the store to know if they had the guitar I wanted to try in stock. I told them I was traveling from the other end of the city so I wanted to make sure they had it. They told me they did have it in stock. Got there and I had to search for someone to help me only to find out they don't have it in stock. They did apologized, but I would have appreciated information on when they would get it back in stock or offer me similar options. I am not happy to say the least!
