I've been a member for about a year now and I am very happy with LA Fitness on Eglinton. I change it up sometimes and visit another location from the to time. I have felt welcome and very comfortable at each location I have been too.

Staff is very nice and people in there are extremely respectable. Although it's my "home gym", the issues are that weights never really get cleaned up and the showers need to be renovated. Also they recently cut off a convenient portion of the gym to have their personal training section. It never really gets used by them so its just empty, when it use to be heavily used by everyone else. I still love it though.

Not too busy when I go mid day or late at night. Like most gyms it is a write off during the rush hour as everyone is in.

Gym is clean staff are friendly equipment is maintained and not down for extended periods of time.

Only complaint is that free weight are not policed enough by the staff. I've spent more time looking for weights then working out some nights.

LA Fitness is the biggest scam gym you'll find in the city. You cannot cancel online or on the phone. Your options for cancelling are sending a letter to California (yes, seriously), or meeting the manager. The manager works 9-5. So do you. So they force you to take a vacation day just to cancel your membership, because they know you won't waste a vacation day on something like a freakin gym membership. 

If you do show up when the manager is there, they will make excuses as to why you can't meet him right now. 

Pure scum. Avoid at any cost. 

That it's impossible to cancel in any convenient way is just the beginning of your LA Fitness headache. Please just google LA Fitness and you will find thousands of horror stories you won't find with other gyms. If I can convince one person not to sign up for this ponzi scheme then this review did its job.

Workout here almost everyday. The equipment is new and there are lots of machines to use. There's a fitness room and a pool, as well as a sauna in each change room and a hot tub.
