So glad I just happened to choose SBG Scarborough as my first gym to train at! From day one I knew it was the gym for me! Jun is a great coach, and amazing teacher. Very dynamic, and keeps you engaged. The gym atmosphere is amazing! Everyone is very welcoming, and encouraging. Definitely recommend this gym if you are interested in training in BJJ or Muay Thai, or just want a really good workout in a friendly environment.

SBG Scarborough is my home away from home.  It's the place I look forward to going most after a hectic work day.  SBG Scarborough has a talented team of coaches who are knowledgable  and empathetic.  Coach Jun and the SBG Scarborough team continue to help me reach goals that I thought were impossible.

I have been a student at this gym for about 3 months now and have been coming to classes regularly. The coaches here and the classes they provide are for the experienced and also inexperienced. One thing I’ve noticed with the BJJ and Muay Thai classes is that they use a system(curriculum) that is intended for all purposes, whether it’s a mixed martial arts competition or defending yourself. The coaches here believe that whatever is useful we keep, and whatever isn’t we discard. 

The first time I stepped into SBG, I noticed the colourful framed pictures on the walls, the “no footwear beyond this point—“ across the entrance floor, and the aesthetically pleasing yellow mats- which to me gave me a vibe that made me feel welcomed. With the sound of the door entrance ring, I was greeted by Head Coach/Teacher Jun. 

Anyways, long story short. I believe in SBG, and SBG believes in their students. “One tribe one vibe” is one of their quotes and I certainly feel it here. If you have the slight itch to try something new and that this gym is accessible, they currently have a 7 day trial for all classes. The space here is a judgement free zone, whether you have skills or don’t, this is the safest place to express yourself.

My 5yo daughter and 8yo son love going to the kids classes. The coaches make the program super fun and engaging. Highly recommend!

The class sizes are small and both Jeremiah and Jun have been very engaging, outgoing instructors. My girlfriend bought me 3 months lessons and I was hooked shortly thereafter. Whether you're looking to lose weight or improve your form, there's something for everyone. I've lost quite a bit of weight since joining with its intense workout session and also developed an interest in Muythai.
