Foodland - Toronto

Generally good selection. There’s a vaguely dirty/rundown look about this grocery store, but don’t let that detract you. The produce is decent, but expect to pay premium for everything from package goods to produce to meats and poultry. Definitely good if you’re in a bind.

The " Deli/ cooked food" department has the worst customer service that I have ever experienced in a supermarket. The day crew is who I am referring to.....well went back after almost 6 months, same experience. It's too bad, but besides that department the place is a great local market to shop. It wouldn't be fair if i only commented on the negative and not the positive. It's very clean, great fruit, fresh vegetables and many other speciality items. My suggestion....keep an eye on your team at the "hot food" counter during the days.

The prices here are a little high but it's so well-maintained and the selection is great. For a small grocery store, they cover A LOT of bases. I went shopping for last minute Christmas baking ingredients here about thirty minutes before closing and staff were friendly, polite and courteous. This place reminds me of a Metro but a bit more concise and better managed. I highly recommend this place as they've got phenomenal produce, great prepared and pre-prepared foods, the bakery is amazing and the dairy, meats, cereals and snack selections are great too!

I have shopped at IGA Danforth for over 10 years. I've always enjoyed their selection, friendliness, and convenience, especially the delivery. More recently however, I've been very disappointed in the service. For example, tonight I phoned to find out what time delivery finished. I was told 7 PM. I quickly walked up, and did a shop to arrive at the teller at 6:55. She told me there was no longer delivery as the delivery man had left. When I asked to speak with the manager, he said "it's not our problem, the delivery man has left." I asked if they would provide me with a taxi chit to home, likely a five dollar cost to them, and they said they couldn't. I've also found several things best before the day or the day after I bought them lately, and just don't have the time to be running back and exchanging things. As such, I'm disappointed to say, that I won't be shopping there regularly anymore after 10 previously positive years. It's a shame as it was the best grocery store around before...

This is the craziest little big supermarket in Greek Town. It's amazing how much is crammed into the aisles of this store. One of the very big big services this store offers is home delivery of your groceries - a godsend if you don't own a car or the load is too heavy to carry home. It's open late. The staff are friendly, all old timers, who make their community.
