A great supermarket; all items are neatly and tidy, and the prices are excellent. I highly recommend shopping at this wonderful place.

Miserable, rude, and unhelpful staff.nI asked one of the employees a simple question, and instead of assisting me, she ignored me and went directly to another customer to ask how she could help. Even the other customer pointed out that I was already speaking to her. She didnt even need help.nA few days earlier, after I had paid for my groceries, staff decided to inspect my shopping bag. Given that I was wearing religious attire, the experience felt discriminatory and deeply uncomfortable. I shop at this location twice a week and have never seen or experienced this before.nThis is my local store, and despite the high prices, I continued to support it out of convenience. Unfortunately, after being treated with such disrespect, I will be taking my business elsewhere, somewhere customers are treated with dignity and appreciation.

Sobeys recently changed for the worse.nThis location maybe others too, I don’t know went through a useless yet I’m sure expensive renovation. Personnel is always non existing in the evening if you need anyone at any counter yet they are open until 11pm and most of them are just rude. If you approach the self check-out they stare you as if you’re always about to steal. It’s so odd to shop here compared to other places.nI wouldn’t really trust their fresh meat and fish section as you can clearly see items sit on shelves for days and the meat is brownish.nI’m not a regular shopper here but I noticed a decrease in variety of products yet of course an increase in prices. I still don’t understand how this place is in business as majority of what I see are shoppers like me only picking up a few specific items. What’s also funny is that I can find better quality products at cheaper supermarket chains.nnJust add some handles to your useless yet expensive paper bags ‍ Canada is truly a joke when it comes to this, I grab handful of plastic bags each time I’m in the US. I’m the first one that carries reusable bags going for groceries but sometimes I just happen to head home from work and I need to carefully select what to buy at this store because I know it’s always a PAIN to carry it. And guess what, not everyone has a car parked right outside the door.nnVERY rude and incompetent employee at the fresh cake counter. She didn’t even bother trying to place a fresh cake correctly in a box, ending up smudging two edges before even handing it to me. Ridiculous.nnCame back to this store for the first time in months. Prices are INSANE. And there is simply no justification for it, items are not organic nor local, literally just the same quality as other supermarkets, just much more expensive. Their fresh products section used to be good as I used to go to Sobeys for years but now, unless you are looking for a specific item, it’s really not worth it to shop here.nnAs a disclaimer, it looks like they lowered the price of a few selected items after realizing they probably aimed way too high, like the olive oil in the attached picture

If I’m looking for something specific they never carry it and what they do carry is often 50% more expensive than No Frills which is just down the road. Really bizarre selection of affordable and high quality items with no depth in either. Go to Big Carrot, Foodland, or No Frills.

If putting up with the disinterested cashiers at this store is not enough, five days ago I went into this store to find that not only had they completely changed around the shelves - moving standard products to new parts of the store - they had taken the words off of the overhead aisle signs too, so the only way to find, say, peanut butter, is to walk down an aisle to see if it's there. After picking up a couple of items, I got tired of this, forgot about the rest of my list, and headed for the cashier. Of course, there was only one and he was as slow as molasses, but I paid and got out eventually.nnToday I went back - still the same situation - no words on the signs. I tried to endure, but in the end I said to hell with it, abandoned my basket, and left.nnI'm not sure if all the Sobeys are this bad, but if you can't be bothered to assign a staff member to update the signs for an extended period, you aren't too interested in your customers. There are other places to shop.
