Great place for south asian items. A little unorganized in terms of where things are but you can find most south asian goods easily. The sweets are cheaper than other places but they are equally good.
Well maintained small store with lot of Asian items. Samosa are good value for money
I bought sweets for Diwali as a saw a long lineup outside the door. The sweets were good except for the Jalebi which was too sweet than usual.
I have been shopping for South Asian products at BJ for over 25 years. They may not always have everything in stock, but for a small specialty store they're pretty good. The samosas and sweets are wonderful, the produce is good, and they carry many items I can't find easily elsewhere. They are also my source for hair oil.
Be careful regarding pricing. I was just price gouged here. I should have questioned the cost or simply walked away but it took me too long to figure why I paid so much. Anyhow $14 for 3L canola oil. Basically double the average. Convenience store prices in what looks like a full on grocery store. I'm a bit angry. Shop here for years for odds and ends but no more. Shame greedy shame. Buyer beware.
Life is about loyalty . For 15 plus year I went to the store . One day due to Rogers outage atm was not working . I asked if I could transfer the money to him later . He was super rude and said no when he knew me for all these years . In desperation I went opp to kohinoor. The owner didn’t even know me but went out of his way to help and I was able to get my groceries . I will never go to this store and shoppers beware . For him you don’t matter .better to go to kohinoor across the street . He is friendly , prices are much cheaper and he even helps you put in the car free . That’s customer service not bj
pretty good place if you’re looking for south asian items/grocery that you can’t find anywhere else. food and store is well maintained and neat. prices are a little expensive though so make this store your last resort when searching for specific items
Today's shop: fruit and veg, samosas, cookies, tea, coffee filters, nuts, yogurt, frozen foods, henna. Amazing selection of goods in a small grocery store.
This little supermarket is located in the heart of Little India on Gerrard Street East and it's been around for many years. There's a great selection of fresh produce and you can find fruits from India as well. We bought some terrific fresh turmeric roots and there was fresh Amla too. The spice selection is terrific and you can find exactly what you need for your cooking needs. This place is also very accessible by public transit and there is some street parking available too.
One stop shop for all your Indian groceries at Gerrard Street East. Prices are decent and aren't a rip off. Highly recommended but service could be improved.
