This food basics is one of the worst for keeping things stocked. Products will sell out and then be gone for weeks and when they do finally get another order it's nowhere close to a good amount. Prices are climbing like crazy too its not even a cheap place to shop.
Pretty decent for grocery shopping, given the location/area. Produce is hit or miss - just need to know what to look for. Cashiers and staff have been helpful when looking for certain items. Overall selection is average but the savings are usually quite good. I know most places are phasing out grocery bags, but I’m glad this store still provides them for an additional charge!
I bought an apple gift card and waited 24 hours to redeem the card but it keeps saying that I already redeemed the points on it. So I brought it back to Food Basics after talking to a service rep.on the phone. The guy looks at me like I'm a small time theif. So now I have to call apple customer support to see what they can do for me. What a freaking hassle.nThese guys did me dirty.
What a gem! What an experience! I ventured in looking for some fresh fruit, and ran into a vibrant dragon fruit which added an exciting gastronomical dimension to my outing. Selecting a perfectly ripe specimen I was struck by its aroma, firm yet yielding texture promising a delicate interplay of sweet and tart flavours. This particular dragon fruit has made my trip a memorable one. Encourage all to give it a try. And to the staff, one word: Bravo!
I wish I can leave you guys 0 star. Very rude staff andnnThis morning, I picked up a 24-pack of bottled water from its shelf and had not yet taken a single step — I simply lifted the package — when the bag immediately tore open at the bottom, causing all bottles to fall.nnI did not drop, drag, or misuse the product in any way. The failure clearly indicates a defective package, not improper handling.nnI personally picked up more than half of the fallen bottles. Due to the checkout line moving and no assistance being provided, I proceeded to the cashier. At that point,nnTwo staff members were present but did not assist. Instead, they repeatedly insisted that I should have used two hands, which is unreasonable — some customers may be carrying other items, have limited mobility, or may have only one functional hand due to disability. This expectation is not practical and does not excuse defective packaging.nnTheir attitude was unprofessional and made the situation worse.
