Food Basics

This is closet grocery store to my home and I only go there if I absolutely need something and don't have time to walk a little further to No Frills or Fresh Co.. Based on my standard shopping there is nothing here that isn't at least 15% more than their competitors... except bananas. They're the same price as everywhere else. Beyond that I've never had a welcoming encounter with any of the staff there. About a year ago I heard a rumor that an Asian grocery store was going to be taking over the space. Unfortunately that hasn't happened. This neighbourhood would certainly benefit from the grocery prices and selection that can be found in Chinatown.

You can find everything, they maintain all the products in stock. Meat is very nice here. You need to keep your receipt while buying milk, sometimes it goes bad even the expiry date is long, in that case you can switch the package.

Great service and helpful staff. Usually well stocked with the sale items. If they don't have any in stock, you can get a raincheck with an additional 10% off! Adds up. The only thing I have a problem with is the crowds. If your timing isn't right, you may have a long wait.

Plenty free parking. Good pricing for sale /flyer items. Cool little outdoor vendors market outside on nice days. Great fruit and veg market next door.

This grocery store is a really great place if you wants to buy your grocery ad lower plaque prices. The quality may not be comparable to other high-end product that are sold in high-end grocery stores but if you want to have your grocery in a limited budget with a great quantity and acceptable quality you can for sure have your groceries done at the store. The surrounding area may not be the greatest but the great thing about this grocery store is that it does have a free parking for the customers so if you're driving downtown and you need to do your groceries and you're driving to the grocery store you most probably won't find a place for parking if you're shopping at other grocery stores but this one provides you with a free parking which is a great option.
