Discount Car & Truck Rentals

The only reason I decided to rent with Discount is that on VIA Rail website it's said that they have a convenient automated kiosk right at the railway station! The kiosk is in fact at the station, BUT it's the one where you have to video call a manager to arrange your reservation. There are NO CARS at the railway station. They pick you up after 10-20 min of waiting and drive you to the farthest office location from the railway station! This is ridiculous! Also, there were other people waiting to be picked up at the station, BUT they only sent one car, not all renters could fit in there! At the office everything is slow. The car is great, the prices are the same as anywhere else. But if Discount wanted to offer convenience - they failed poorly...

Made a reservation online based on VIA rail's recommendation, but made a change on Discount's website to my reservation date when my train itinerary had to change. Arriving at the video kiosk, I learned that they had record of my reservation despite me having a confirmation email printed in hand. Was told that there were no cars ready but that I could wait about two hours and a car might become available. I was very disappointed that my reservation could get lost like this! The attendant was very helpful and apologetic. I ended up going with Enterprise nearby, and helped out another individual at the station who was in a similar situation. We both got picked up by Enterprise and set up in cars despite not having reservations with them. This kiosk is a great idea, but not having cars on site is a major weakness. I do not recommend using this service until it is more integrated with the local Discount branches.
