Discount Car & Truck Rentals

One star is too much for this company. Our insurance company sent them to pick us up after someone hit and totalled our car. They claimed they were on the way bit after standing traumatized in the cold for over and hour and a half calling them with no answer on their line we finally called friends to rescue us. We never heard from them that night. When we went to get the car the next day they seemed unapologetic and refused to give us anything at all for our trouble. Then they put us in a dented car with scratches all over it and burn holes in the seats and sent us on our way. The next day we happend to notice the insurance papers in the car had been expired for over 6 months! It took us over 2 hours to get a hold of someone. They did send someone out to give us the updated papers. I asked him if it was a common practice for them to let their cars drive around with expired papers and he started making excuses. "It just expired" he said. I pointed out the date and then he said "the last person must have kept the right copy" i thought isn't it illegal to have more than one pieces of insurance papers in the car? They refused to take any responsibility for any of their actions. We typically rent from Enterprise and have had nothing but great experiences with them. We only had to use Discount because of insurance. This is no way to treat a customer. Especially customers who have just been made the victims of horrible accidents and are being sent there for help.

I was weary of dealing with this location based on reviews, but did it anyway out of convenience. I decided to reserve in advance so I would not be disappointed. No car available when I arrived. I called Enterprise and they picked me up and got me into a rental. They were glad to take the business away from a competitor.

They get tons of business from the Collision Centre down the road so they run out of cars. When cars are returned they are not cleaned properly before shipping it out to the next customer. Mine had a previous smoker and they tried to mask it with a strong scent and nearly triggered an asthma attack.

I had to move out of my apartment on Aug 31st and could not move into my new apartment until Sept 1st. I booked a moving truck in advance for the whole evening from this Discount location, along with elevator times at the two apartments, family to help me and time off from work. I booked well in advance given how busy this time of year is and even received a confirmation email on Aug 29th. Twenty minutes before my pick-up time I received a call - they had no truck. In fact they don't keep trucks at this location and call around the night before to see if they can find one (Given it was the September long weekend in a city with 2 universities I could have told them they would never find one). Not only could they not find one that evening but waited until 20min before my pick-up time the next day to call me. When I was understandably upset they pointed out that they did not have to call me *at all* to tell me there was no truck available, it was not Discount's policy to do so - this was a courtesy call they were doing as a favour to me. They were completely unapologetic.

the staff are super awesome, it's my second time here, last year I rented 2016 Grand Cherokee loved it and this year 2017 Jeep Cherokee Compass, Great service especially Ahmad and Jaber there were super awesome, I certainly will come back to this location!!! Thank you very much for your service
