A great lodge during our stay in Banff. Well positioned, clean and friendly staff. Great hot tubs / sauna and cold plunge outdoors as well.nnI only put 4 stars, as the breakfast options are a bit of a downside. It's the same every single day. Scrambled eggs, potato and sausages. If they could change it up a bit briefly, it would have been great.nnThe pancakes / maple syrup are nice though!nnRoom was pleasant. Although we didn't get our room cleaned for 2 days on the trot. But a nice size and great view of the mountain behind.nnLovely fire place inside and outside.
The hotel experience was great. Every staff member was friendly and happy to help.nThe room was modern and matched the Banff vibe. There was a Nespresso in the room which is always a nice upgrade from the standard coffee pot. There was actual little creams in the fridge too.nThe breakfast had a little bit of everything including meats, eggs, potatoes, juices, yogurts and a pancake maker.nThe outdoor courtyard was so nice with the hot tub and sauna, especially when it's a little chilly outside. There is a cold plunge too 9degrees but you won't need it in the winter!nThe underground parking was really easy to navigate and night next to the entrance.nCouldn't hear any other guests so soundproofing was good.nThis place is located a little walk away from the downtown area, but still walkable. There is a bus system right by too.nOverall I really recommend this place as it was really cozy!
Overall, we had no issues with the Canalta Hotel in Banff space wise. The layout was great. We had a 2 BR Queen Room with a kitchen which was invaluable.nnThe staff was welcoming and helpful at all times.nnThe location was fine. It was just shy of a mile to the main downtown area - which for us was an easy walk. We never needed our car for downtown. We walked to dinner every night.nnOur biggest complaint was the room lighting. It was like staying in a cave. Our room felt so dark at all times.nnWe were a first floor unit and our bathroom looked out at the hot tub - as a result, we never felt like we could pull up the shade to allow more natural light into the room. It really should have had a shade that opened from the bottom up vs top down. The kitchen was dim and the sleeping space was really dark.nnEven with all the lights on, it was still dim. This was a big enough concern for us, that we would probably not book a room again here.
We recently just had our team retreat here for the 3rd year in a row. The front desk had all room keys ready and set aside so check in took 30 seconds and we were off to our rooms. They always treat us so well here and we will continue to return every year! The hot tub area is amazing and we usually hang out there both at night and first thing in the morning. This is a great hotel for business or pleasure stay and is convenient to get in and out of. They always have a ton of parking available underground too.
We recently stayed at Canalta Lodge and had a great experience .nThe atmosphere was—perfect , quiet and peaceful for a relaxing getaway. The room was clean and breakfast was good enough .nI also loved the small touches that made a big difference, like the local natural cosmetics provided in the room. It felt great to use eco-friendly products during our stay. Additionally, the quality of the coffee available was impressive—having a good cup of coffee in the morning set a positive tone for the day.nnWe loved the sauna and hot tub facilities. , complimentary s’mores in the evening, which added a fun and nostalgic touch to our stay.nnWe can’t wait to return
