Really enjoyed our stay here. To be honest the first standard room we got was a little grim, it came with two small beds rather than one big one and the window was mostly obstructed. We upgraded to a more premium room with a king bed and a fireplace for only $20 and it was well worth it and a lot nicer. It had a peek of Cascade mountain.nnNote parking is $20 a night which came as a surprise but the staff was honest in saying where we could find free overnight street parking literally right next to the hotel I could see the car from the window - why would I pay $20 for parking….nnThe place was very clean and had some nice Christmas decor. It could use a little renovation soon but it did look like they were trying to do some maintenance and it was still well kept.nnThe hot tub, pool and steam room were also really clean. There were a lot of families with young kids so we kept to the steam room for more quiet time.nnWhenever we had an issue staff was prompt and accommodating.nnOverall for $180 a night in November it was excellent value.nnIt’s only a 10 minute walk from the main strip in Banff and there were lots of restaurants and stuff even closer.
Double bed w/ fireplace was quite spacious. Indoor parking was a plus although 20.00 daily fee. Located near end of main strip so it's a little bit of a walk but doable. Awesome clean hot tub, pool, and robes. Large clean bathroom with safe! Friendly helpful staff. Frig and coffee maker, no microwave. Restaurant on premise, also bar which was overpriced but convenient. Would stay again! Hotel not lodge to me.
This hotel was the worst experience I've had. Before I get into it, I would like to say Peter working the night desk was absolutely phenomenal. Amazing worker.nnNow, as for the hotel and the managers.. different story.nnThe room floor was dirty, we found old toys left by a previous guest, the room clearly had not been cleaned. Our fridge was disgusting, smelled like mildew and mold. We brought it up to the front desk and they said they'll have someone come check it out. We left for the day, later returned to see a new fridge was put in our room, only to find someones old food still in there. That was unacceptable.nnWe had a manager come to the room and look at it, and he initially said we could go to the bar and have some cocktails on the hotel as a means of cooling down. We accepted. Then we were handed two coupons for a house wine. Not at all what was promised.nnOn our last day, we wanted to have a shower and get ready to leave. Only to discover we had no hot water in our room.nnThe hotel, staff, and everything about the way they handled the situation was awful.nnI recommend finding any other hotel in banff.nnWorst experience of my life.
I should have left this review when we stayed here and completely forgot!nnThe stay here was fantastic. We had the family suite and it was so cozy and comfortable. The room was spacious and well kept.nnThe customer service at this hotel was excellent. Caring staff who were kind and helpful. One of my favorite parts about the stay was returning from being out in the cold all day and coming back to find hot cider in the lobby. The small details made a big difference.nnThe location was ideal and central to Banff. It was easy to get around and find your way to different sites.nnThis hotel was a great place to stay. I hope to return again one day.
Lodge was kept very clean. Received an upgrade to a suite which had a fireplace in the room. Bathroom was large. Fresh and flavoured water available in the lobby which was nice as well as bikes for guest use. Doesn’t provide the transit passes as some hotels do. Not a hyper modern hotel butnYou can see that easily through the pictures. Still very nice and would recommend
