Tried a few Bengali street snacks here and overall it was just okay. The fuchka was nothing like the authentic Bangladesh-style version—it was pretty basic and mostly tasted like tamarind water, missing that bold, spicy depth. They also sell jhalmuri, but it didn’t really stand out compared to what you’d find back home. The guava with kasundi was the highlight: nicely tangy, spicy, and salty, and easily the best item I had. The jolpai and tetul achar were decent but nothing memorable. All of this came out to about $25, which feels a bit high for what you get. It works as a quick grab-and-go snack spot, but if you’re craving real, authentic fuchka, this isn’t the place—still looking for a better spot, so let me know if you have recommendations.
One of the oldest Bangladeshi grocery stores in Canada. Probably the first Bangladeshi grocery store in Canada. Great place for a grocery and specially for halal meat it is great place. Only problem is some time you see they are displaying expired items those should not be for sale. But they improved a lot in the past few months. Good jobs folks.
Be careful when you purchase any package item and make sure to verify the expiry date. I purchased two pack of toast today and while eating toast smelled bad and later I checked the expiry and found it was expired on June, 2025 and I purchased those on October 5, 2025. They kept those on shelf even three months after expiration. I live too far otherwise could go back and ask the cashier.
Marhaba is my favorite deshi grocery store. I like to buy my fish, chicken, dal, veggies from there. Fish stock is just awesome. Everything is fresh. Price is good. And butchers are very gentle and nice.
Bing a Bangladeshi I like this grocery shop, they have all of our major Bangladeshi grocery iteams in stock. you have to check the quality and expairy date before putting into the Cart. some time they offer excellent discount for powder milk, rice and fish items. Thanks for your service folks. All the best wishes, keep it up.
