Story

An authentic two-storey, Irish pub with a hand crafted cast iron mezzanine patio over viewing the gateway to the ByWard Market. Two other patios along the side and in front of the restaurant leaves no doubt that the Aulde Dubliner & Pour House is the best patio in the ByWard Market.


All tables and chairs have been imported from Ireland and the outside look of the Pub is as photogenic as you will ever encounter.

With live entertainment Friday and Saturday night in the Pour House upstairs, exceptional selection of Irish Whiskey and draught beers with 21 brands on both floors there's no shortage of ways to celebrate Irish culture.

Arrived around 4:15pm on a Saturday. (It was a quick few block from many parking garages and quite easy to spot right across from the beaver tail shack!). We we're seated right away. The tables are a little tight but with the dark ambiance it didn't bother me. There were plenty of TVs around so no one misses the sports action. Our server was super friendly, and I'm always impressed when they don't write the tables orders down! Only complaint is she was a little slow recognizing our drinks were low. For apps I had the seafood chowder and it was SO GOOD! It was a perfect amount for my husband and I to split. For dinner a few people at the table had burgers and one had the fish and chips. Their fries are delicious, and so are their onion rings. I didn't hear any negative comments about the food. I had a burger w/ bbq sauce and bacon..and I was happy it wasn't too messy to eat. They had a HUGE selection of alcohol to keep anyone happy! Will definitely come back!

Great local hangout. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Live bands and good vibe. Food varies with what you get. Best chicken tenders and nachos in the market. Spicy curry chicken is a hit and a miss but when you get the good batch you will try it again!

Terrible service and high prices for mediocre food. First the debit was down and the server didn't tell us until after we had ordered our drinks or I would have just left. Second the people beside us left and almost the entire time we were there he didn't even bother to clean off their table. Third the food was so bland and the portions were really small for a $17 meal. My kid was given attitude when asking for a refill. He assumed it was all on one bill when I was with a friend. Nobody just assumes anymore.. I work in the food service industry and today was unacceptable. Won't be going back that's for sure.

Fantastic location in the very heart of downtown Ottawa. Huge shopping centre is 3 minutes walk away. The pub has two stories. It has a great view of the Byward Market. The atmosphere is great. I love the service. It's a must visit place for us everytime we're in town. Aside from the amazing selection of beer the food offered is excellent. I've brought people from several different countries and everyone enjoyed it immensely. I highly recommend this venue for lunch, dinner or supper :)

Great beer options. Fish & Chips is great. Experience downstairs is better. Get there early its worth it. Live bands are great too!
