We chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, and it turned out to be the best decision! The food was truly exceptional—each dish was perfectly cooked and packed with incredible flavors that delighted our taste buds. The staff went above and beyond to make our dinner feel extra special.nnThe only downside is the parking, which can be challenging. We recommend arriving early to secure a spot. Overall, a fantastic dining experience we highly recommend!
Had both brunch and dinner here within the span of a week. Personally preferred the dinner given its more traditional, whereas the brunch is more fusion/western style. Standout dishes for dinner for us were the eggplant dip, the fish curry and the spiced cabbage dumplings. Menu is meant to be family style / shared, so nice to go in a group. Some very interesting and well-executed cocktails also - the negroni is fun, with the smoke dome. Service super friendly and personable.
Is 5 stars all I can give?!! Absolutely incredible dining experience at Zarak! From the moment we walked in.. the afghan hospitality began Our server Samneet was impeccable… so kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. The other server Aman was also just as pleasant! So this place is family owned, we met Zabi and he was truly one of the kindest people we’ve encountered. I have no idea what those 1-star reviews are talking about because the hospitality here was unmatched. It honestly made me wonder—where did the owner find such amazing staff? Besides the hospitality the food—wow. Every dish was a an Afghan masterpiece. The Uzbeki Palow was out of this world—the shank literally melted in my mouth like butter. It was rich, flavorful, and absolutely unforgettable. They have a delicious and perfectly crisp, seasoned to perfection with Afghan spices buttermilk fried chicken you have to try! Thank you so much for your hospitality, service and delicious cuisines. Also if you’re in mood for afghan ice cream they have Afghan staples Sheeryakh and Feereni—both decadent, creamy, and the perfect way to end an already delicious meal.nnIf you’re in Vancouver and haven’t been to Zarak yet, you’re missing out. Amazing food, 5 star service, and hospitality that makes you feel like family. We’ll definitely be back!nnThank you for being so accommodating with our little 4 month old and celebrating us
It’s been one of my favorite restaurants in Vancouver. I always bring my favorite people here at any special occasion as well, and both service and food make me feel so happy and warm every visit. Also love the fun cocktails.
I've been to Zarak twice now and both experiences were exceptional: atmosphere, food and service were truly some of the most memorable I've experienced in Vancouver dining. The servers and staff we connected with both times were super friendly and kind. *Highly* recommend this special place.
