We decided to have a late breakfast 11:00 on Sunday. The rush was over and staff must have been cleaning up as it took 10 mins to get us coffee. They were apologetic and nice people. I digress for one moment. To the one customer who was berating a staff person over having to put their licence plate # down, "get a life!" You are the reason people don't want to work in the hospitality industry. The meals were ok. I didn't feel stuffed after finishing my meal. I don't think I would visit the restaurant again. If you are staying in the hotel, it's very convenient. Parking is a bit awkward to access, is free for 2 hrs when dining in the restaurant, and don't forget to give your licence plate number without whining please.
It's your usual white spot but located in Best western Hotel. Maybe because of that it wasn't that busy. Food was plenty but tastes just average. I've tried different meals couple of times and I think they all taste about the same.Food: 3/5
Effort was nowhere to be found. Kitchen and servers were preoccupied with no reason as there was 6 live tables, 2 servers, 1 host and a supervisor. Our food was not hot, not even the plate, it arrived incorrectly prepared by the cold end staff, and we had to request everything like any refills on beverages and we there was no '3-bite check' inquiry or attempts to upsell whatsoever. This place needs people who care, an expo in back-end and employees who don't behave like they're just trying to make a wage - Serving, means to serve, it means customer service and attentivness. What a disappointment Whitespot, we loved you, but you've gone cold on us.
Here is my cold, and burnt to a cold crisp legendary burger and cold fries 25 minutes later, I opened my bun, to a ripped in half 1/8 inch burnt cold burger. Then the audacity to ask for a tip starting at $10.63 being the lowest and upwards of $15.00, woah. Step your game up.
Food was cold, service took a long time. When you go for breakfast isn't coffee a requirement, shouldn't have to wait ten minutes and forget the milk/cream and sugar. There wasn't alot of customers, so there was no excuse for the lengthy waits we had to endure. Small servings, what a pitiful amount of potatoes, they are endless but when you ask for more, the server's expression clearly shows their disapproval. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is inside the hotel, and the hotel is at ground level with an incline built into the concrete sidewalk.
The food was delicious & the service was great despite being understaffed. The place was packed but the staff were quickly turning over tables so our 15-20 min wait was only about 10. We had the fish and chips and zoo sticks and WOW. Gordon Ramsey would be proud. The batter was delicious and crispy and held onto the fish and zucchini very well. The dips were fresh and complimented the crispy food insanely well. I can totally understand why it's packed on a week night. Overall would highly recommend!!
Service was great, food was terrible and greasy! The fries were refried so they were like chewing on rocks. Salad had the very minimum dressing. Unimpressed with the food. A waste of $$
Went for brunch delicious eggs Benedict with salmon coffee was good too abd bottomless very pleasant staff who tried their best prices reasonable able Service was very slow. Some customers were not impressed & one couple left. We were not in a hurry so the wait did not bother us. My friends orders got mixed up and we ended up with an extra plate of food. Everyone in my group did enjoy their meals though. Not sure why so slow even though when we got there it was not busy. I hope they sort out this issue soon as this is a really good brunch spot.
Been going to White Spot restaurants for over 50 years. We like it because it’s consistent. Unfortunately, this location is not up to the usual standard. Access from the handicap parking involves stairs. The place wasn’t busy yet we had to wait 30+ min and our food was cold. The burger was greasy, the fries were pale and soggy, and so was the squid. The salad was nicely prepared but drowning in dressing. Big disappointment for $20+ sandwiches. The best part of the meal was the beer. Photos of our food not worthy of posting. Although the service was friendly. they apologized for the delay and gave us a generous supply of napkins, we won’t be returning to Marine Dr. We’ve had better dining experiences at other White Spot locations.
Travelled from Toronto, and our Uber driver told us that White Spot was a must-try for our first time in BC, and he was right. The food was good; but the service at this location was amazing. Our server was incredible. They seemed to be slightly understaffed, yet still got things done quickly. I wish I got our servers name, but he was wonderful. So polite, so caring, and made our lunch even better with his service!
