West Island College Calgary

WIC is an AMAZING school, we have been so happy since our children have entered this school. The admission process, teachers and Erin Corbett have been second to NONE! The amount of care, attention and information given is outstanding. There is not one negative thing about this school and we are alumni. I believe the negative reviews are just here from disgruntled people and I know ALL the administration including Ms Corbett are open to transparency, discussions and keeping our kids safe and educated.

Not even halfway through the school year and I already wanna quit. Stop focusing so much on sports and give me better education

Got a uniform infraction because my white socks have a black logo on them. Also, the new building shares a wall with a shooting range, so when you walk past it outside you can hear gunshots. It's not dangerous but it is something to think about. Education is great though, and all the staff are great. I don't do PE anymore but when I did, the changerooms were kind of nasty. There was weird stuff on the ground and the showers didn't work, not that anyone would have used them. The new math classes have LED strips all around the room, which is cool but I don't get to experience that because I'm stuck in the board room, so -2 for the school on that one. I'll make a sequel to my review once I'm in some sort of post-secondary, but until then I give WIC a 5/5 because of the simple fact that they always have Milk 2 Go in most flavours. They don't have banana though, which is ridiculous because banana milk is surprisingly really good. Oh, also, the girls' bathrooms are much nicer than the boys', I don't know what guys do in there, but there is pee on the ground a lot of the time. Lastly, I don't know if I'm just really cool and nifty, but I don't believe there is any sort of bullying going on here. Again, I can't speak for everyone, but people seem to be nice for the most part.

It was alright at first, but after the students were quite rude and I had to wear long black pants, and a dark green blazer in 30+ degree heat. Also the school is to complicated, I had to carry 4-5 textbooks to each class and most other schools just use technology, it’s way simpler. Also we did nothing for the first half a month just on IXL..

22k a year tuition, for a building that borders Blackfoot trail and a shooting range. The building is from 1968 and most expensive private school in Calgary.
