I am not comparing this lookout point with others as each and every look out point serves its own beauty. This is another best view points to enjoy with family with scenic beauty of downtown. This is also looking towards stampede ground and exibition for indigenious people. I would say the area is big enough compared to crecsent heights view points if you want to enjoy, sit, relax or go for a stroll. I would recommend to go there during different time of the day as well in different seasons. I bet you will thank me later. Sometime this area can become very windy or windchill in winter seasons. Ice does not get cleared in time so beware of falling down on black ice. There are few sitting area as well. I would also expect few others things which will make this area super hit: Off-leash park, children play area, food truck etc.nPlease click on 'Thumbs up/down' on helpful button. This will help me to get a feedback on how I am doing.
If you want the best shot of Calgarys city skyline, this is the place!
Definitely popular vantage point in the city. Good observation, benches to sit and enjoy the moment. Not crowded in winter time. Easy to reach either by wooden stairs, or from another side. But it is better to go down after observing than to go those stairs up :
This popular vantage point, merely a couple hundred steps from the Skyline View Point on the same road, is smaller but safer and better of the two downtown view points.nnThis grassy area on the 6 street at the intersection of Ramsay Street is better than the other skyline view point since it has a well-made wooden observation deck with a few attractive looking metal benches to enjoy the alluring views of Scotiabank Saddledome, Calgary Tower, skyscrapers, and Bow River from a different angle.nnIt is safer because of the metal palisade at the brink of the hill from where anyone may fall down and meet with a tragic end.nThis feature is imperative in this era of selfie-crazy people. There have been lots of fatal casualties happening everywhere in the world because of this selfie-mania where people risk their lives in order to get better pictures of themselves with prepossessing backdrops.nnBoth the view points on the same street, 100 paces apart, are created to give the splendid city skyline views to their visitors, so there are no picnic tables or children playgrounds; however, visitors may enjoy a couple of children play areas - Bell Avenue Park and Ramsay Park - with latest equipment in the proximity of the vantage points, enjoy at the stampede park at the foothill.nnYou may read my review of the other vantage point - The Skyline View Point - and see photos of downtown from a different angle.
This is definitely one of the best places to get great views in Calgary. It always looks peaceful and serene. It's pretty hard to see the Elbow river from here, very well, but you can mostly, if you just walk down the Valley.
