Toronto Western Hospital Emergency Department

We can definitely blame the spread of lice and bed bugs in Toronto on this hospital & the TTC alone. Absolutely disgusting every time I have to come here.nnHave less security who just enable instead of deesculate and prevent and bring in cleaners.nPeople coming in with lice and they are telling them to sit in the waiting room..nI watched a substance dependent lady get called 3 times and each time she was outside getting high but I had to wait 4 hours for a possible parasite.

Shout out to “Stan” in emergency wait room. Amazing nurse with great energy and caring professionalism. Paramedics who brought us in and other nurses in that area were amazing as well. Didn’t get the name of doctor who saw us but she was great too. Everyone who got seen by them seemed to be taken with great care, professionalism and with empathy. My experience in the emergency department left me shocked. While staff were decent toward me, I was deeply concerned by how some homeless and marginalized patients were treated, even when they were simply asking questions.nnI understand the job is not easy, but it was difficult to watch the way some staff spoke to members of the homeless community with such disrespect, seemingly because they knew these individuals were unlikely to defend themselves.nnThe important question is: Are staff receiving adequate training on working with vulnerable populations? They have no right to disrespect anyone

Excellent experience.nI came in Toronto Western Hospital on March 7, 2026 at 08:00 and I was really well taken care off.nThe nurses, the doctor and the ultrasound technician were amazing. They were kind, explained me every procedure and reasonings and kept me updated.nIt was 5 hours total: arriving at the emergency, registration at the front desk, triage, initial assessment, lab exams, imaging and leaving the hospital with my prescription and all the orientations.nThank you so much

Genuinely one of the worst ER experiences I’ve had. The place is absolutely filthy. Crammed in a small room for 28 hours with no air circulation. Nurses seemed confused and dismissive when you could get them to check on you. One bathroom for like 15 people and constantly dirty. I’ve heard this hospital was great? Not to me.
