I want to start by thanking all the hospital staff, such as doctors, nurses, radiology personnel, and support staff. When I started my treatment here, I was in a very difficult condition, both mentally and physically. The support from the staff, especially in the Hematology and Radiation departments, has been outstanding. I am truly grateful to the doctors for their guidance and support during those tough times.nnWhen we assess the patient support system, it truly fulfills its role, rather than just being a token support system. For instance, the parking pass/commute options and the clear directions to different departments, appointments, and hospital records are all well-coordinated and easily accessible, particularly for patients experiencing pain.nnThe hospital's location is a significant advantage. It is conveniently located in the GTA, with plenty of nearby parking garages and accessible Metro stations and bus stops.nnThere are a couple of great snack shops within the hospital, such as Tim Hortons and Starbucks.
May 2024- January 2025!nBest of the Best at Princess Margaret from Prostate cancer diagnosis to treatment plan to the treatment and ADT therapy it’s been not a fast process but it’s been a steady as you go Dr C. Catton and the GU department has been incredible. I feel that I’ve been treated with the kindest and most professionalism that I have ever experienced in a hospital setting. Pray and care will see me through…unfortunately it’s not my first rodeo with Cancer 12 years and counting kidney cancer free…thanks the late Dr Anil Kapoor @ St. Joseph Hospital Hamilton. More best of the best!
I was struggling financially for transportation and when speaking to one of the social workers she just told me to find a new job. I've never asked for anything else. I was told I could get partial odsp years ago and somebody would help me which never happened. They scheduled 3 different appointments on 3 different days in a row, and instead of changing them the first time to one day I was sent on a wild goose chase. I haven't seen my oncologist since before covid and it doesn't help when the people that are supposed to help just make you struggle more. I have other medical issues and have no benifits but I have only asked for help for transportation so being put down and saying get a new job really did not help me with anything but only affected my mental health more.
Night shift nurses at the 14th floor are the worst and the nastiest I have ever seen or dealt with, specially the past two nights. They run the place as if it’s their home not a job! No one to be found or sleeping in addition extremely rude when you call them over the beeping machine or need help with the sick patients. So glad it’s my last night here, honestly just can’t deal with them anymore.
My friend had been going here as they had taken on her cancer case. She had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and was coming in often for appointments. They told her it was too late for chemo or radiation and there were a few times she would travel over an hour for an appointment and the Dr didn’t even show up. This is not some cold or flu, this is life threatening cancer we’re talking about. She would have different doctors every time and no one truly had an in depth knowledge or understanding of her case. After lots of frustration she transferred to a local hospital who have provided her with in-home nurses and have been great. They were so shocked to hear Princess Margaret hadn’t started her on any treatments and she is now finally on chemo and radiation. I’m not sure if it’s an understaffing issue but not showing up to very important appointments is absolutely careless and inhumane. I recommend other hospitals for serious cancer cases.
