This is the worst emergency unit ever seen, my 2 days old baby got discharged from the hospital at 07:00 pm and had to rush down again at 11:00 pm same day because of consequences. I had 2 day old baby on my lap but nobody addressed us until 02:26. Everyone gave us excuse saying there is only one doctor in emergency today.nFor birth registration it is fine, okay but for any kind of er please ignore this hospital.
Woefully disorganized. Nurses are forgetting about patients, wait time has no staggering so it’s a stampede in waiting rooms. They scheduled a date and time for my woman’s mri and then were confused when she came on time for it. I’m not sure how much worse other hospitals are in Canada but these healthcare “professionals” are more interested in getting you out than making you better. I guess that’s par for the course in this country though.
Yes wait times are high, there is a reason for triage and the most severe will be seen first This is how emergency care works With lack of family Drs the ER is now many peoples only option for all levels of care beyond emergency....I was very happy with the care and compassion from everyone I saw and spoke with during my ordeal. About 6 hours total to be seen blood work exrays and EKG then follow up appointmy next day for CT scan. It ran smooth and efficient.
If you can go elsewhere, GO ELSEWHERE!!! The nurses here are SO RUDE. Everyone from the check-in process, triage and nurses in emergency. They don’t greet you as you walk up to the desk, when you ask a question they respond with attitude. I had to get an X-Ray and the nurse just pointed to follow the Orange line, I sat outside this door for 15mins before a nurse walking by tells me this X-ray room is out of service. When I was finally seen by a doctor I was put in a dirty room during covid the room had obviously used see photo. I would NEVER come here for help again.
Came in with a life threatening heart arrythmia and was in a bed and getting cardioversion in no time. Emergency rooms have TRIAGE FOR A REASON. If you're spending 12 hours waiting there and not being seen, it's because the people who need help faster are getting helped! Obviously if you're able to spend all day in the ER and live to complain about it, you were low-priority anyway! Big ups to the staff in this dept.
