We had an emergency situation right at Christmas eve and we did not have a choice despite of bad reviews about this emergency to go there as its the closest to us and it was out first time when we needed emergency. BUT. I must say that it was an absolutely great experience given the circumstances and all process took 2.5 hours which, from what we heard, is really not a lot for the ER. We are very grateful to all the staff of the hospital starting from triage and finishing with nurses and doctors. Everyone was very kind and friendly and in good mood , kind of sending the positive vibe in the waiting room as we all know how stressful such places are. We got the treatment needed and further valuable recommendations. We understand that hospitals are usually understaffed, so we want to say thank you for your hard work. You all are the heroes of our times!!
I usually don't rate but everyone was so helpful and nice to me here. I was through the er in 2 hours but then had to be referred to another unit. Total time about 6 hours which for everything was pretty quick. You can tell they are overworked and understaffed but all the nurses and doctors were very kind and helpful and made the ordeal of having to go to the hospital much better. I've had horrible emergency experiences but this was great. THANK YOU!
The level of unprofessionalism is astounding. No one is helpful here. The department is physically in an absolutely disgusting condition. This is an embarrassment on the hospital, city and country. I understand that people go here when they are feeling at their worst so the atmosphere isn’t very pleasant but it doesn’t excuse the terrible maintenance of the department. It feels like you’re in a third world country. They did a so-called expansion of the ER but they have the lowest possible standard of cleanliness, and lack of polite and professional service.
We went to the St. Joseph’s ER with our 4 months old child, because they hit their head. It’s not enough that we had to wait with a baby 3hrs before seeing a doctor. The doctor also touched our child’s head only on the surface and said it’s a haematoma and that we can go home. We learned today that the diagnoses was wrong and our child has a fracture, after getting a full exam at Sickkids. It’s the second time we have a bad experience at St. Joseph’s pediatrics. Never again.
This hospital is beyond horrible. I told about the excruciating pain I'm feeling and how horrible my symptoms feel. Told them I could barely and can’t even sit and I still had to wait for over 5 hours in The Emergency. I went up to a nurse to let him know again about how I’m in a lot of pain and he didn’t care. He told me there’s 6 people ahead of me and even after that I still waited for way over an hour. Staff doesn’t care about its patients and they’re very rude and dismissive. I get you have to prioritize people, BUT, I was in immense pain and I couldn’t help but cry cause it hurts so much and they didn’t care, I saw many patients with not as severe problems get ahead of me. Again I understand prioritizing patients that are worse off,nBut they’re calling people in who are literally laughing and I’m just sitting there with so much pain and crying and they still made me wait and dismissed me. Worst hospital ever, I will never come here again.
