Great check in experience. Bathroom and bedding were clean. Pet-friendly room was a factor in our choice and location. First floor patio was great for loading and unloading. Room would benefit from microwave. Patio door needs to be oiled as was very hard to slide open. Cigarette container on patio may alleviate butt litter.
After reading the reviews I was a little worried about staying in this hotel but it definitely exceeded my expectations. I had a renovated room and it was nothing fancy but it was clean, the bed & pillows were comfortable and it had a balcony overlooking the indoor pool. The room was cleaned every day. Every floor had a refillable water bottle station with filtered water which i definitely appreciated, spending four nights in a hotel I usually spend a fortune on bottled water. There were 3 elevators so you never had to wait for one. The pool has a glass dome ceiling, it was really pretty and the temperature in the room was actually comfortable, you didn’t sweat to death watching the kids swim, they even had hammocks. The staff was friendly and there is a store in the lobby to buy snacks & cereal. I didn’t eat in the restaurant other than the breakfast buffet one day. It was priced fair and the food was decent. I was visiting Toronto from out of province and I will definitely stay here again if I come back. Not far from downtown.
We stayed at the Don Valley Hotel and suites with another couple to celebrate a birthday and we were very pleased with our experience. We booked a suite with adjoining room, which worked out perfectly. Both rooms had their own bathroom fridge, comfortable bed and the suite included a living room TV chair and dresser unfortunately we didn’t have time to use the pool, but it looked clean. Had plenty of loungers. This hotel is an excellent value even factoring the cost of an Uber to and from downtown you’re still coming out ahead. We would definitely stay there again. The staff were great and they have a really nice breakfast buffet 2 can eat for $25
Booked for a place to rest our heads while exploring downtown Toronto during fashion week and taking in a jays game. We saw many jays jerseys, so this must be a hidden gem for game day accommodations. Great for families on a budgetnnThe location was quick and easy to find right off the highway.nnThe hotel is dated but clean. Hallways are very heavily scented. Rooms are carpeted but was happy to find the rooms were not as scented as the hallways. .nWe didn’t get to enjoy the pools but checked them out and looking forward to coming back for them. The outdoor pool has a great sitting area where you can enjoy a beverage. The indoor pool is very unique with a round solarium roof.nnThe breakfast option is reasonably priced, but we didn’t find enough gluten free options to make it worthwhile.nnThe covered entrance provided a cool and protected area to wait for our Uber. The prices to go downtown are reasonable and close enough ride that the savings in the hotel cost covers your rides and leaves money in your pocket vs the overpriced hotels downtown.nnAmple outdoor parking included in the hotel cost and allowed use the whole checkout day.nnForgot my white blouse on the bed as it likely blended in and was disappointed that it was not found when I called the next day.nOverall, I’d come back as it’s reasonably priced and good location to explore Toronto.
The stay was okay. We examined the beds for bed bugs and didn't find any signs of them, however while laying in bed there was a roach on the ceiling just above the bed. The sliding glass door to our balcony didn't close all the way and you could see visible crack to the outside. Tried to order room service and couldn't get through so we had to go down to the restaurant to order. The food was actually really good and not bad waiting times. However while at the bar we asked for a mojito and the server said they didn't have Mint and walked away from me to continue serving other guest, she came back to me and I gave her another drink order and she seemed annoyed, waited another 10 minutes before I was able to get my drink. We didn't go in the pools on this visit as we were tired and ready to just relax.nnPlease note this is not friendly to guests with mobility issues or children in strollers or wagons. There's access but it's in a round about way and ramps are steep.nnFinding our rooms when checking in was difficult and had to ask the front desk which way to guest rooms.nnOverall, might look into other options for next stay.
